Groundbreaking for new Bethesda police station today

A groundbreaking will be held this morning at 10:30 AM for the new 2nd District Montgomery County Police station, at 4823 Rugby Avenue in downtown Bethesda. The project is part of a land swap that will facilitate the redevelopment of the original station site at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue at Montgomery Avenue. StonebridgeCarras will be the developer.

Last night, a tent for this morning's event had already been erected.

Sadly, they could not accommodate Dyer's schedule by holding the ceremony at 3 AM.

    1. 5:45: "Sadly", you're wrong. Ask anybody who spoke to me there this morning, including several councilmembers.

I'm not sure Dyer understood the joke. :)

This will bring low-income criminals and miscreants to the block. I oppose this.

@ 11:24 PM - Can the conversations be printed in a family newspaper?

While Dyer has a picture of an empty tent at 3 AM, news sites actually have pictures of the ceremony.

8:30? It says 5:30 on the post.

You don't get "scoops" for news that hasn't happened yet. Sorry, it doesn't work that way.

@ 6:35 PM - Dyer's time stamps are on Pacific Time. Don't ask why.

Why does it say 5:30 PST instead of
      8:30 eST? Isn't dyer a local?

Wait what? I always thought Dyer was just up and posting his scoops really really early. So his time stamps are pretending to be earlier?
