Here's a look at the near-future redevelopment of Christ Lutheran Church at 8015 Old Georgetown Road, at the edge of downtown Bethesda. The project will include 107 apartment units, and a 48000 SF community center anchored by a new 350-seat church.
The project is now headed to the Development Review Committee, which consists of representatives of Montgomery County government agencies and utilities like WSSC and Pepco. That body will review the church's plan on Monday, April 4, at 10:30 AM, at the Montgomery County Planning Department headquarters in Silver Spring.

Is this any change from the plan that has been around for about five years now?
ReplyDeleteMore than 5 years. When my now 7-year old son was an infant in the day care there they were avoiding all maintenance because of the impending redevelopment.
ReplyDelete"The project will include 107 apartment units"
ReplyDeleteThe residential component will be for-sale condominium units.
Do we consider this a good or bad project?
ReplyDeleteI put it in the "could be worse" category.
ReplyDeleteIt is a change in a suburban neighborhood more than 10 years old so it is bad.
ReplyDeletenow how about all of the garbage on the other side of the street between Battery and Glenbrook? So so ugly.
