Blue Bell Hair Salon & Spa opening in Lionsgate condo building in Bethesda (Photos)

This seems to be the week of beauty salon reveals in downtown Bethesda. First up on Monday was Phenix Salon at 4500 East-West Highway.

Now the second mystery salon in the ground floor of the Lionsgate condo building at 7710 Woodmont Avenue is known. Blue Bell Hair Salon & Spa is taking over the space that previously held a lingerie boutique.

There is no Facebook page or website yet for the salon.

So odd how nail and hair salons thrive when other retail keeps going out of business.

I thought I saw a building permit on the right side spot of Lionsgate too, what's coming in over there in that long vacant spot?

  3. Thanks for the story Robert, but may I make a suggestion for future salon/spa openings? When you are getting pictures, please try and photograph or determine what product line the new business is carrying. This is very important to people who would use their services. Just a line is enough. For instance, I go to a spa that uses Khiel's and a Salon that uses Aveda, and I would not want to change product lines if trying a new place out.

Khiel's is great lube, Poppy. Want to come over while your husband is at work?

The Blue Bell Hair Salon & Spa is taking half the space that used to be Veria. It has been empty for 5 or 6 years.

The space that used to be the bra shop is now the new sales office for The Chevel condo building on Old Georgetown Road.

Ah ok gotcha, Robert's post was confusing since he incorrectly said the spa is going in to the lingerie shop instead.

Why no "Moribund MoCo business climate" lecture for this long-vacant site?

Monmouth? That's in New Jersey, isn't it? Take the current Westbard area, expand it to the size of an entire state, and throw in Newark and Camden too, and you get New Jersey.

No, thanks. I'll stick with Medaglia d'Oro instant.

Poppy - English? How lovely! I didn't know that England had tropical mountain slopes in which to grow coffee - but I guess Global Warming has some positive aspects. I wish I had some right now, to enjoy with my Spotted Dick.
