Pike & Rose as you've never seen it before (Photos)

Pinstripes building under
construction (at left)
Here's a view you can't likely get of the Phase 2 construction at Federal Realty's Pike & Rose development in North Bethesda, unless you own a drone or a helicopter. These photos were taken by Clark Construction from the tower crane high above the property.

I can't wait till Westbard looks like this.

Poppy - want to bring out your "bad girl" side and go for a quickie in the parking deck here?

Robert, I do have to say, if you can get your paws on these photos, any average Joe walking down the street can

Anonymous said...

^That's getting old - not the joke, but the actual interaction. I'm ready to graduate to Poppy's equinox-fueled bubble butt

MORIBUND.

With this REI opening will the other one up the Pike close?

and is the Porsche/Audi up the street converting to only Audi?

Anonymous said...

Great shots. Love the perspective. Thanks!

Anonymous said...

@801 not sure because I believe Federal owns the center with the other REI as well

Anonymous said...

The Pike & Rose REI will supplant, not supplement, the one opposite Montrose Crossing. Federal owns Montrose Crossing but not the shops on the west side of Rockville Pike.

Anonymous said...

What 8:52 said. REI is moving. Federal Realty owns the big box community centers not the strip malls

Nice photos! It's amazing that they're doing so much at the same time. One of the biggest advantages to being a REIT--access to capital. JBG should take note. Phase II of their much smaller property at North Bethesda Market is about 6 years overdue.

Anonymous said...

You know Robert didn't take these cause there aren't any stupid looking filters on them!

Wrol said...

Is anything planned to take REI's previous spot?

Anonymous said...

Robert is opening up a store in a part of the REI space to exhibit his favorite products from his youtube channel and sell twinkies! Stay tuned!

That REI looks like it is going to be very progressive with all those solar panels. I smell a big hiking clothes shopping spree coming on!

Cool

Robert, I have to ask, did you obtain permission and the rights to use those photos from Clark Construction? Otherwise I believe that's plagiarism/theft?

Anonymous said...

Great exclusive look at Pike & Rose from above!

@ 9:16 AM sure is clingy. He can't even wait two minutes to respond to Poppy.

Anonymous said...

7:01 AM - When the Bois du Ouest is under construction, Poppy will host hang-glides and hot-air balloon rides over the site. It will be awesome!

Anonymous said...

@ 10:13 AM - How do you say, "if this balloon basket's a-rockin', then don't come a-knockin'", in French?

Anonymous said...

Poppy - I smell a big meaty sausage coming for you soon! I'll shape it up to be as gourmet as you'd like!

Anonymous said...

Poppy, I assume you'll be looking mostly at the Patagonia line of clothing for your hiking adventures? They're really quite the progressive company if you take the time to read about them.

Anonymous said...

What objective reader truly says something like that?

Anonymous said...

I am really looking forward to it too.

I still want to know if Robert acquired those photographs legally and ethically! He clearly didn't take them, but posted them on his blog

12:38 PM There is a photo credit. Did you see it?
I've never seen so many comments about something as mundane as a photo credit which is right in front of you.

Anonymous said...

Dyer sure has been sleepin all day! Birdbrain can't come up with an intelligent response.

Anonymous said...

@12:55 Photo credits don't necessarily mean the images were used legally. If I were to play a song in my band in public, say "Welcome to the Jungle" and just credit Guns n' Roses, that doesn't make it legal, I would still owe them a royalty fee. Birdbrain!

Anonymous said...

2:12 PM No offense, but you're not a journo. You don't know what you're talking about.
Leave photo credits to the experts, like Dyer. He's been reporting for awhile here.

Anonymous said...

"the experts, like Dyer."

LOL

Anonymous said...

2:59 PM If you've written news articles, please link to them.
Otherwise, you don't know what you're talking about.

Writing a term paper in school doesn't qualify you to comment on how to write news articles.

Anonymous said...

@ 3:07 PM is a True Believer. LOL

Anonymous said...

3:16 PM Has never written anything published...other than anonymous comments :)

Anonymous said...

2:47, Can you clarify how Dyer is an expert?

Anonymous said...

Obvious trolls are obvious.

Anonymous said...

How is Dyer an expert? Read his masthead.

Anonymous said...

That's making fun of him, right?

Anonymous said...

5:10 Why do you need to know troll?

Eyes bleeding.

Anonymous said...

@ 5:23 PM - Why do you need to know why he needs to know?

Robert Dyer is a well established journalist. He's been covering MoCo longer than any other active writer that I'm aware of.

Being a life long resident, he can put the news into better context than a freelancer who lives elsewhere.

Anonymous said...

What freelancer lives elsewhere?

Anonymous said...

That's how little readers trust Dyer

Anonymous said...

"Freelancer" seems to describe Dyer better.

And I don't see how Mom's basement gives him "the ability to put news into better context". Journalism by birthright?

Anonymous said...

Haha..you can't argue that the traditional media outlets in MoCo don't heavily use freelancers and interns to write articles.

Nothing wrong with that, but quality is below a well established journalist like Dyer. They simply don't know the landscape, issues and major players in the county like Dyer does.

Anonymous said...

From today's Washington Post: Many of those office towers surrounding Washington are sitting empty

"Suburban locales are facing record-high vacancies as employers curb their appetite for space and shift their attention to more urban locales, but downtown also has a glut of available space."

And the article starts with Tysons Corner.

Anonymous said...

"quality is below a well established journalist like Dyer."

The True Believer has spoken again, from Mom's Basement's Sub-basement.

Anonymous said...

"They don't rabidly hate the elected officials in the county like Dyer does."

Anonymous said...

Well, Dyer hasn't got his share of attaboys from Councilmembers.
That's a good thing.

Anonymous said...

Allright, who opened the idiot box and let 6:56 out?

Anonymous said...

@758 - ur mom

Anonymous said...

Dyer never acknowledges this thread of conversation.
