Quincy's hopes to open Thursday or Friday in Bethesda

After a delay of a couple of weeks, Quincy's hopes to officially open at 4920 Del Ray Avenue in downtown Bethesda tomorrow or Friday. Last night they had a friends-and-family soft launch event, with a limited menu.

Among the interesting menu items were an Argentinian Steak Sandwich, which I don't believe is available at the other Quincy's locations, and Chicken and Waffles. There is not a bad seat in the house for watching the game (or more than one game) on the many, many flatscreens.

Quincy's will be closed today, according to an employee, and then try to open as soon as possible Thursday or Friday. Stay tuned for any official announcement.

This would be a perfect venue for the Robert Dyer fan fest event! What do you say Bobby D?

"perfect venue for the Robert Dyer fan fest"

Fans? The only visitors I see on this site are trolls and Dyer's brown-noser.

11:18 AM Back to the theory that one troll and one pro-Dyer person are the two lone readers here..lol.

11:18AM That's your problem, there's more to life than what gets posted here.
Aside from not being able to count, you've made a whopping boo-boo by not taking into account the lurkers. Daily readers who, for whatever reason, prefer not to comment.

You must have a large skull to hold all that ignorance.

Waving hello to all the lurkers!

@ 11:34 AM - So what are the numbers?

Where is Dyer, anyway? He's made no signed comments in the past two days, and only two signed comments in the past five days. Did his Google+ account get revoked?

He also missed the presentation of the Rock Spring Master Plan that calls for more students in the already over capacity WJ cluster and a possible new school across from WJ when the Rock Spring Center approval expires in three years.

    1. 12:54: I reported the student numbers a couple of months ago, from a meeting at which I was the only reporter to show up. The more recent meeting was scheduled at the same time as another meeting, and there is only one of me. Can't be in two places at once. If we're going to get into a list of how many meetings I was at that some other outlet wasn't at, it's a hell of a long list. Stifle yourself.

12:28PM How would I know what the numbers are? I know a few, maybe you do too. It would be silly to think there aren't more people who read but don't post.

Hopefully, Dyer's busy with more food reviews!

12:54PM Have you emailed him about that? It's not like he has a staff to do the menial tasks.

@ 1:00 PM - So what you're saying is that neither Dyer nor you have any idea what the numbers actually are.

1:47PM Hello again. How would I know what the numbers are? I read a blog and post comments. So, yes, I am saying that I have no idea what the numbers actually are.

As for Dyer, I have no idea whether Dyer does or doesn't have an idea about the numbers. I don't know the guy. Have seen him at a meeting or two, but never talked to him.

21 comments and not a one about the article. Arnie Fainman will scare all customers away. This is dead on arrival. Don't need another sports bar in Bethesda.

    1. 6:46: With 9 nightspots having closed in downtown Bethesda, I'd argue we need as many new bars as possible. This should also put some life into that block at night, which could help Paisano's and Guardado's, as well.

    2. How many openings have we had?

Which are the closings and openings? Would be fun to see a loss list and gain list. See the net total.

    Robert,
I agree about bringing energy to that block but these foola aren't the ones to do that. Arnie Fainman is one of the most despised people in this area and will be a nuisance. The other owners are clueless and their food and service are horrible. Good luck.

Is Arnie Faunman or Lenny Greenberg more despised?

  22. I think this place will hurt Guardado's not help it... The kind of dirtbags this place will attract and with their smoke filled entrance so close to Guardado's front door.. No bueno.

I'll make the Arnie post... Good freaking luck keeping customers with him in there.
