Hundreds were left without power overnight across Bethesda, as several storms passed through the area with heavy lightning, torrential downpours, high winds, and even hail. During the 10:00 PM hour, at least 5 homes were struck by lightning, according Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer. One home was struck on Rollingwood Drive in Chevy Chase.
Wires were down in many places, and trees and limbs came crashing down on homes. A tree fell on a home in the 6100 block of Stardust Lane, in the Country Club Forest community.
Occupants of a vehicle were trapped by flooding near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Goldsboro Road. MCFRS dispatched a Swift Water Rescue team to the scene around 11:40 PM, but the victims managed to escape the vehicle before they arrived.
The southwest area of Bethesda was particularly hard hit by power outages, as were Bethesda neighborhoods along the Capital Beltway.
Those were some wild storms last night! Say Robert, would you consider having a "meet and greet" happy hour where all your loyal readers can share some bud-lime and maybe the latest burger king special with you? I'm sure many would attend!
ReplyDelete5:55 AM There's no venue that could hold even a fraction of Dyer's daily readership.
ReplyDeleteUnique visitors and page views are not the same thing.
DeleteIs this where those complaining about Pepco cutting down their trees then complain about Pepco service going down?
ReplyDelete6:10 AM Who said they were?
ReplyDeleteIf Robert Dyer's audience gathered, we'd see the leading lights of Bethesda. Probably the most influential gathering ever in Bethesda.
Where's the evidence for this supposed "readership?" Has this site been ranked, awarded, or acclaimed in some way. As far as I know this site has never been quoted in any legitimate publication.
ReplyDelete6:02 AM Hey, what about Westbard Shopping Center parking lot. There's even room in the back for overflow.
ReplyDelete6:56 AM Dyer's and his local news network have been cited in The Washington Post, HuffPost, Eater, Patch, Yahoo News, WUSA9, etc. The list goes on.
ReplyDeleteYou lose credibility when you make anonymous wild assertions. Just stick with facts.
5:55AM - We could all wear Anonymous name tags! :)

same bitter anonymous guy posting here.
ReplyDeleteIncluding a legend for that map would have been helpful.
ReplyDelete9:27 AM = Arlington based blogger still trying to find his way around Bethesda
ReplyDeleteSo how are Dyer's readers magically supposed to know what those numbers and triangles are supposed to represent?

10:25 AM Never seen a Pepco outage map before? You really must have just moved here. You'll be seeing a lot more of them.
ReplyDelete10:25AM The negative committee which meets inside your head needs to sit
ReplyDeletedown and shut up.

Robert Dyer is an up and coming force. He will run Montgomery County one day. Prepare for revenge. It will be savage!
ReplyDeleteUp and coming? So if he's planning for revenge and lost multiple times in election, would that make this the revenge of the fallen!?
Delete4:04pm has his usual obsession with Dyer.
DeleteDoes he know we have folks serving on local councils, county & municipal, who have lost several elections? That's politics folks.
I guess I am obsessed too if I know 4:04 is making a joke about Dyer's metal album revenge of the fallen. Available internationally on iTunes.
Delete@ 10:27 am - "If you don't already know, then I'm certainly not going to tell you", says #UnsignedDyer .
ReplyDelete11:23AM says "I'm addicted to Dyer, but can only get attention by bad-mouthing him." #BigBully
ReplyDeleteHahaha, good one! @10:27. :-).
ReplyDelete8:32pm you forgot to say "self proclaimed" recording artist, as you had it in your old Bethesda now post.
ReplyDeleteWe have been on Nantucket for most of July. If this gathering of readers is held in late August, I will most certainly attend.
