American Tap Room closed today for renovations at Bethesda Row (Photos)

American Tap Room will be closed today, Wednesday, September 21, for renovations. They will reopen tomorrow, September 22, for a "relaunch" of the restaurant. Given that the chain's Clarendon location closed recently, there may have been some concern among patrons finding the restaurant closed. However, as you can see in the photos here, there are actual renovations going on inside.

American Tap Room should be renovating their personnel...this place constantly employs a staff that looks like they skipped a step in evolution...just a bunch of Neanderthal looking mofos - like you, actually

I found a shard of glass in my beer at this place one time, could've cut my throat if I drank it down. Whenever we go it always seems like a 15 minute wait to get an order in. Bad service that needs to improve

I'm 613, Robert. Fabio or not, I'm not a grown man with a greasy pony tail and rat glasses rocking a trench coat around Bethesda in year-round. I could be missing a limb and walk into any of Hans great night time spots and steal any girl you dare talk to.

    1. 7:50: Well, all of Bethesda agrees with you on one point - you're "not a grown man." I don't even own a "trench coat," moron.

For a place called a tap room they should expand their beer menu beyond Bud Light.

He can probably only afford the kids menu at Tap Room and that's why he was disappointed to find out they were shut down briefly

7:50 AM If you think you're hot stuff, actually identify yourself and post a photo. You won't and you & I both know why.

Stop creeping after Dyer, watching him at public meetings and such.

Settle this like men. 7:50 and Dyer meet this Saturday night at 11pm at Muscle Bar. Whichever goes home with a lady wins. If both manage to leave with women, a panel of judges will award the victory to whomever woos the hotter one.

Who is this weirdo @ 8:09 who stalks innocent Bethesdians who attend public meetings?

We'll have to wait 24 hours for the subjective judges ruling to see if Dyer's woman files a restraining order

There's a reason other Bethesda bloggers used public art as their avatars, never appear on camera, etc. :)

Dyer was greatly disappointed when he learned that the name of this restaurant was not "Fap Room".

Where you at Robert? Robby D? Bobby? Too scared to come play with the trolls? Or are you taking a hair brush to your trench coat and puffing your glasses clean as you tell yourself its Tarnation Bob making you do the things Robert knows are oh so wrong

What I can't believe, is the the Rockville ATP is still open, after all these years. Talk about a large dead space with seemingly drugged out bartenders and staff. I stopped going there over a year ago due to poor service and odd staff.

I'm sure your loss of business was SOOOO DETRIMENTAL to the restaurant and the owner is probably crying himself to sleep every night!

Did you sell it in the last 15 minutes or something? Because there are tons of pictures of you in a trench coat that you yourself have posted on this blog, numbnuts!

1:34pm apparently sees men in trenchcoats everywhere.

    2. 1:34: I've never appeared in a trenchcoat on this blog or anywhere else. You may want to get a full psychological evaluation.

They should close shop. Something much better should move in to this space.

Maybe Riemer is paying them to stay open. His nighttime economic initiative can't take another closing.

    Their report:
    "Vision
To develop creative placemaking opportunities and sensible policies that encourage an increased nighttime social life for residents, employees, and visitors of all ages and cultural backgrounds."
"Provide an expanded array of nighttime options that will appeal to the County’s current residents and employees and encourage them to stay in the County more frequently for their nighttime activities rather than traveling to neighboring
    jurisdictions."
