Montgomery County police officers responded to a home in the 3000 block of Spencerville Road in Burtonsville yesterday morning, November 30, around 6:25 AM. They found that swastikas, and the words, "Trump" and "racist," had been spray-painted on all 3 cars in the home's driveway.
Police say the victims were known publicly to be Trump supporters, and believe that was the motivation for the attack. They are now investigating the incident as a "bias-based" crime of vandalism.
Anyone with information about this vandalism is asked to contact the 3rd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6870. For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s). Tipsters can call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).

Based on the information that Dyer has provided, this, and the other incident that Dyer reported last week, are not "hate crimes", but rather vandalism.

In the article, it's clear the "letter" was a fake PHOTO taken from the internet. The reporter neither grilled the delegate Jake Tapper-style about what her role in the hoax was (who was the "victim"?, was there even a real person who sent her the fake photo? ), and why did she remove the post from her Facebook account with no public apology or explanation once she realized she could take her fake hate crime no further?
The crime against the Burtonsville Trump supporters is inexcusable and reprehensible, as is the vandalism relating to Black Lives Matter signage in Silver Spring on election night. Both of these episodes are sickening and should command zero tolerance.

ReplyDeleteTrump was pretty clearly referring to a percentage of illegal immigrants, not Mexican immigrants in general. There is no Muslim ban, just extreme vetting. The protesters were the violent ones, including gang-style assaults on lone women, and it was ultimately revealed that they were paid thugs directed by two arms of the Clinton campaign and DNC. Trump's comments on the Central Park incident were made long before the election year - if you could blame hate crimes on that, they would have happened long ago. He made fun of the reporter because he falsely claimed he couldn't remember - well deserved, because the guy wrote about Muslims celebrating the fall of the twin towers. He can't now claim it was false - do you mean he wrote that with no evidence to back it up? Or was he just backtracking because his article gave credibility to Trump's claim about some Muslims tailgating to celebrate?
None of these examples directly relate to anything that was written by the vandals - nothing racial or anti-Semitic, so I'm still seeking the "statements that have been made" by Trump which we can pinpoint as the cause for hate crimes in MoCo.

I've been following Trump's career since the 80s. The guy doesn't have a racist or hateful bone in his body. He desegregated his golf course in Florida when he bought it, and he's helped a lot of people over the years that hasn't been covered by the press.
