Just Meditate, a new meditation studio encouraging drop-in clients, is promising to "bring meditation mainstream" in downtown Bethesda. The studio is located at 4928 St. Elmo Avenue.
Amy Thaler, the studio's founder, has a diverse background in business, ranging from being General Manager for Ceremony Operations at the 2002 Winter Olympics, to holding CEO and COO positions at various companies and organizations.
Meditation styles offered at Just Meditate include mantra, mindfulness, loving-kindness and breathing meditation. The studio offers a secular approach to the practice, and will be open 7 days a week.
Lots of people seem to care about this news!
ReplyDeletePretty soon we'll need to schedule time for sleep.
ReplyDeleteAt a sleep center. For a fee.
"Mindfulness, loving-kindness"
ReplyDeleteTwo terms I immediately associate with Robert Dyer.
How much does it cost? Do they charge by the meditation?
ReplyDeleteI'm buying George Leventhal a set of gift cards to this place for the holidays. It'll help him through the first 100 days of the Trump administration!
ReplyDelete@1002 - doesn't matter - Dyer can't afford it
ReplyDelete11:10AM Aww..you're just jealous he doesn't HAVE to work for a living.
ReplyDeleteResidents like Dyer's work publishing his MoCo news sites, including Rockville Nights :)
ReplyDeleteI read it every morning with a cup of coffee.
7:04AM's obsession with Dyer's junk knows no bounds.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it weird? He's all about Dyer and where he goes, how he gets there, what he eats, where he lives, what he wears, his hairstyle, the type of knot he uses for his ties, how he gets along with his mother, concern about his drinking, what camera he uses...it goes on and on...
Ha! Great thread. Thanks for the shout out. @1002 your first class is only $10 and then there are lots of pricing options. Just check the website www.justmeditate.studio.
