An interior build-out has been underway for some time at the building. I had previously confirmed the new tenant is a gym. Yesterday, exercise bikes were loaded into the space. What I can't find out is - what is the name of the gym, and does it have any relation to the New York/Las Vegas mural on the side of the building?

Gym to open in former Bethesda homeless shelter-turned-retail space (Photos)
The mystery is mostly over at the former Catholic Charities homeless shelter for men at 4848 Cordell Avenue. It's not going to be a restaurant, folks. And it's not going to be a retail store.

Mystery solved, but I was hoping for a restaurant or bar!
ReplyDeleteProbably good for residents of Triangle Towers and the Palisades, although we don't know yet what type of fitness programs they'll be offering.
ReplyDeleteWell at least it isn't a bank.

ReplyDelete10:07AM - then you are not doing it right. You should be enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteMy sources tell me they are a late night only gym called Hans' Hunks that will blast loud music on weeknights and that was inspired by the nighttime economy initiative.
ReplyDeleteThat mural is still the worst idea I've seen on a building in a while. New York in Bethesda?
ReplyDeleteHopefully it's Fitness First, so JBG can break ground on their Trader Joe's project.
ReplyDelete"New York in Bethesda?"
ReplyDeletevs...?

DeleteWest Virginia in Westbard.
Speaking of Fitness First, their "expansion" into the old Columbia Bank has gone nowhere in two (or even three?) years.
ReplyDeleteIs this another Greenhill/Karr project?
I never bought into the expansion nonsense, unless JBG backed out of the project. There's no way that gym was going to hold up a major development.
DeleteMother Teresa is rolling in her grave, thinking of all the homeless who could have been helped these past 2-3 years had the shelter not been turned into a useless vacant building.
