China Gourmet Bistro to reopen Tuesday at Cabin John Mall
China Gourmet Bistro, which was damaged by fire last month, will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, January 24. The popular restaurant, open since early 2015, is located in Cabin John Mall at 7945 Tuckerman Lane in Potomac.
Why does the sign that says "THE MALL" look like a bandaid on the middle finger of an African American male flicking off new ownership? One last stand by the 6-feet under Freeman's?
There is no Chinese Restaurant in the building you show. In fact, Jerry's has shut down in there. Only a sushi place and McDonald's inside that I know of. Had a frozen Yogurt place for less than a year in there too.
7:11 and 7:27 If I'm not mistaking Eden is the owner of the largely popular Eden Center a Vietnamese retail strip center in Falls Church. They maybe planning another of their Asiatic tourist destinations for the Potomac area. Their properties draw busloads of tourist.
If there is one thing I hate, it is Oriental tourist groups and wrinkly clothes.
If this becomes commonplace per 7:41's comment, you can kiss my Burning Tree membership good-bye and I'll make for Texas, where they don't let the Chinese in with Trump's new wall.
Jade Billows was actually a good Chinese restaurant, left years ago. Was run by the same family as Far East. The building in photo, top floor was pretty much occupied by Total Wine Hq, which left for new building. I don't see how any shops in there survive. Only draw is McDonalds and Hans Riemer's liquor store.
Didn't this place recently sell? Are you sure the new owners aren't kicking these guys to the curb?

ReplyDelete6:21: The mall was indeed sold. I don't think they can kick a tenant out until their lease is up.
ReplyDeleteHa that's what you think Birdbrain. These private REITs and institutional players can do whatever the F they want. A million dollars says this joint is bought out in the next 365 days to make way for the first Dyer Café - an all you can eat experience combining the best of McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, Taco Bell, and malt liquor.
ReplyDelete@ 6:48 - And bumwines, Pop-Tarts, Hostess products, Hungry Man and Banquet dinners! And microwaves provided for heating any of the above.
Delete8:40: The microwaves would actually be for my competitors, so they could more easily heat up old Robert Dyer articles to serve up as "breaking news."
Delete@634 - who ended up buying?
ReplyDelete7:11: Edens. A major commercial development firm.

ReplyDelete7:21: Correct- it's in the strip mall section of the property, and this photo is simply showing the name of the mall.
Delete@720 - What else do they own? Are they local? Are they doing mixed use renovations here?
ReplyDeleteThis is scary. Reminds me of early stages of when EQY bought Westbard, and we all know MoCo cannot handle another fiasco like that.

6:48 AM sounds like a big Dyer fan!
