Bethesda rug shop says it's being "forced out"
Jamshid Antique Rugs says it's being "forced out" of its space at 4931 St. Elmo Avenue. The shop is currently hosting a "store closing" sale, with prices slashed by up to 50%.
Looks like from the article, moving and forced out of business sales are regulated differently "Any ad using the words “going out of business,” “liquidation,” or “close-out” triggers a licensing requirement under the county's consumer protection regulations..."
Like I mentioned earlier (before the purge) Could ask the landlord. Could ask at Bone Jour or the nail salon if they know Could ask the owner Could ask the mailperson Could ask another local rug company for the scuttlebutt.
Did you find out where they are moving?
ReplyDeleteor why? what does forced out mean? new APT Bldg in future possibly? or a redevelopment of that pretty ugly space?
ReplyDeleteDid they say why?
ReplyDeleteNever believe an oriental rug shop when they claim to be holding a "going out of business" sale.
ReplyDelete7:34 - I don't trust an oriental rug dealer that has a massage parlor on the premises.
ReplyDeleteGreat article from the late 90s

@3:16PM: Worst. Poem. Ever.
ReplyDeleteAny updates on why they were being forced out? Or should I reach out to Steve Hull for the answers?
