Dog Haus Biergarten posts Coming Soon signage (Photos)

There's still a long way to go on the build-out of the restaurant's interior, but Dog Haus Biergarten is letting passersby know they are on the way sooner rather than later at 7904 Woodmont Avenue. Now that expected competitor Bold Bite has apparently withdrawn from the hot dog category (but will still compete on burgers and craft beer), Dog Haus will by default be the big "dog" in town, when it comes to frankfurters.

The county should purchase and tear down this and the adjoining building to create an expanded Veterans Park, sooner rather than later.

Can't wait for Politics and Prose to open on the expanded Veterans Park. This will be hub of the next Bethesda Row.

It appears that Bold Bite has not really withdrawn from the hot dog business. I just dropped by there, and their current menu offers 7 different types of half-smokes; the person in line in front of me ordered a half-smoke. It can be hard to find the half-smokes on the Bold Bite menu, since the rather confusing menu uses pictorial symbols rather than words to indicate the form of protein available. The pictorial icon that shows a bull with horns indicates that that particular combination of toppings is available on a half-smoke. Maybe Bold Bite will drop the hot dogs after Dog Haus opens, but so far it is still selling them.

  4. 9:37: Thanks for the update. The twists and turns in the Bold Bite hot dog menu rival a Hans Riemer scandal at this point.

Give it a rest, Dyer. You reported something incorrect. A simple thanks for the update would have sufficed. Your attacks on Councilman Reimer are tedious. They do nothing but make you look foolish and remind everyone how he got 80,000 more votes than you. Yeah, yeah we know...you lost because Facebook and dead people conspired against you. Or perhaps it was because your silly and childish attacks against the Councilman.

Yes, Robert's fixation with Hans is strange. Mr. Reimer is probably enjoying breakfast with his wife and children while Robert rails against him. I know you're not as lucky as Hans and don't have wife/kids but perhaps watch some TV or go for a walk...or get a hobby...anything rather than these strange posts blaming a Councilman for whether a restaurant serves hotdogs or not?

Actually Hans Riemer and his family are asleep when Robert Dyer rants at 2 am.

  8. 6:02: Considering he wiped out the nighttime economy, he probably is! It wasn't 2 AM, though.

Don't put yourself in the same category as any of the aforementioned people. As I try not to be nasty, I don't need to say much more than that.

Are you comparing yourself to those people? You're nearly 50...have a blog with a few hundred readers and review tacos as your job. And you delusionally blame Facebook and dead people for costing you an election you never had a chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  11. 7:32: You're right, because unlike John Delaney, I don't cruelly foreclose on poor people's homes while living as a billionaire. Spot on, old sport.

7:36: All 3 of those people are even older than me (though I'm not nearly 50), and all three of them "blame Facebook and dead people" (and Russia!) for costing Hillary Clinton an election she never had a chance to win. I have thousands of readers, and over 10000 followers on YouTube. I'm also "The Honorable Robert Dyer," having actually served as an elected official.

What have you done, besides lash out at successful people from behind a keyboard in a Councilmember/developer PR firm's office for an apartment stipend?

If Doghaus does better than Bold Bites, will Bold Bites rant deliriously about the MoCo Machine bussing in dead customers to patronize Doghaus?

"Unlike John Delaney, I don't cruelly foreclose on poor people's homes"

You're an idiot, Dyer. Do you understand the difference between home mortgages and commercial loans?

"In 1993, he co-founded Health Care Financial Partners, to make loans available to smaller-sized health care service providers purportedly ignored by larger banks. HCFP became public in 1996, and became an NYSE company in 1998.

"In 2000, Delaney co-founded CapitalSource, a commercial lender headquartered in Chevy Chase, Maryland; the company provided capital to roughly 5,000 small and mid-size businesses before his departure."

    ReplyDelete
  14. 8:01: You've never heard of the company Delaney financed, Aeon Financial? You need to read this report to see the dastardly things Delaney invested in in that deal, and has yet to admit accountability in (unless you believe Delaney approved a $30 million investment to Aeon without researching what the company did first - wow, that easily would disqualify him from any political leadership office. Wouldn't want someone who either willfully engaged in Aeon's rampage against homeowners, or is so clueless he spends $30 million without investigating what the company does first!):

    "I have thousands of readers"

Sure you do. Let's see some actual numbers. All the numbers I've seen indicate your competition has 10 to 20 times as many readers as you.

"...I and over 10000 followers on YouTube."

For junk food reviews while talking like a pirate and sitting in front of Christmas giftwrap wallpaper, which don't exactly qualify you to make critical decisions affecting our County of one million.

Delaney's net worth is $50 million. He's not a "billionaire".

To put the loan to Aeon in perspective, it represents 0.0013% of the loans made by CapitalSource during Delany's tenure there.

And how would you suggest that delinquent property tax accounts be pursued?

Please, please, please run again so The Hoonorable Councilman Reimer can whip your tail again. You running for office really does make for good comedy. Reimer nearly doubled your votes last time. I'm guessing he will triple your votes largely due to silly comments you make like those above.

Stick to writing about hotdogs and your Christmas wrap backdrop.

Since Robert Dyer brought up the issue of elected officials' and candidates' investments, the voters of Montgomery County have the right to know about Dyer's investments.

Dyer's doing a good job covering our elected officials and government with skepticism. You know- like what journalists are supposed to do!

Reamer and this county government would wilt pretty quick if the rest of the local "media" would cover them as objectively and with healthy skepticism.

Cheerleading the government is easy, but isn't journalism, folks.

Don't you think your past comments indicating violence (bodyslamming someone / five finger death punching) along with using mental illness as a way to put someone down might be a pretty big whopper of an impediment to elected office? If the good Councilman brings this up, how would you respond?

    ReplyDelete
  24. 2:26: "The good Councilman" would be laughed off the stage if he made a false statement like that.

  25. 10:57: Not surprised an old dinosaur like you would be criticizing someone with over 10000 followers on YouTube, over 4000 Twitter followers, and thousands of daily readers. Hans will only triple his votes if he can import triple the illegals to vote using the names of the dead and departed. Sad! No wonder Brian Frosh is hiding the voter data - he knows what it will reveal.

9:05: No, it just shows what a dumbass you are. As a former elected official, I hold the title, "The Honorable."

8:55: So did Delaney know Aeon's tactics when he approved the $30 million he invested in them, or did he hand over $30 million to a company he didn't know anything about?

8:31: I was the top voter-getter in a race with 5 candidates for only 2 seats. That's a contested election, and I received more votes than all the other well-known party officials I ran against. I have a signed certificate from Gov. Bob Ehrlich that clearly states I was an elected official in the state of Maryland. Read 'em and weep, *****.

So just to make sure I'm following. You lost to Hans Reimer by a landslide because of the following:

      1. Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg have it out for you.
      2. Tens of thousands of dead people voted for Councilman Reimer.
      3. The Montgomery County cartel (whatever fantasy of yours that is) is against you.
      4. Developers thought to themselves I'm going to waste my time going after a little known blogger.
      5. Councilman Reimer imported illegals (whatever that means to you) to vote against him.

Could it just be you were a weak candidate who never really had a shot and just use fantasy to blame others for your loss? That seems more plausible.

  26. 6:21: 1. Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg have it out for anyone who doesn't pay them to promote their posts, reducing their appearance in news feeds, and making them harder to stumble across. Their bias against Republicans is also well-documented.

    2. Yes, they did, as the Judicial Watch study indicates - there are more names on the voter rolls in MoCo than actual people eligible to vote in the County.

    3. Absolutely correct.

    4. Yep, including by angel-investing in the small and slightly-failing magazine and hobby blogs, to divert traffic from my site to fake news sites that will provide 100% positive coverage of their controversial developments.

    5. "Thank you, Hans." - Gustavo Torres of CASA, March 2017

Now that we're getting a very troubling picture of voter fraud in Montgomery County, it seems unlikely that I lost simply because I was a "weak candidate." At worst, minus fraud, it would have been a closer election if not a victory for me. The sheer number of fraudulent names on the rolls would indeed cover Riemer's margin of "victory."

    ReplyDelete
  27. Anonymous7:21 AM

Well. Um. Uh. I guess that's all we voters need to know.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yep, we certainly need more high-information voters, as past results suggest.

"angel-investing in the small and slightly-failing magazine and hobby blogs, to divert traffic from my site"

Every time you make this claim, it further justifies your readers' questions about your own sources of income.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 7:55: No, it doesn't, because I don't spend a dime on advertising, Facebook/Twitter promotion or Google results placement. And I have no staff beyond myself. Meanwhile, the other sites you refer to are spending massively on those things, with revenues for both print and online magazines plummeting. Hence their need for "dark money" angel investors.

    I'll ask you this again...

How do you get from "there are some dead and moved-away people still listed on the voter rolls"...

...to "I lost the election because 80,000 illegal immigrants used the names of dead MoCo residents to vote for Hans Riemer"?

Just curious what your evidence is.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. 3:16: Very simple - not just some, but thousands and thousands of deceased and moved-away names on the voter rolls; more names registered than actual eligible voters existing in the County; illegal mailers sent out by Riemer operative in Randolph Hills; extensive anomalies in precinct voting results in 2010 & 2014 in the Council At-Large races; and a high number of illegal immigrants, of whom 14% were illegally registered to vote nationwide, according to a recent study published by the Washington Post.

      Delete
  32. So we need investigation to find out - how many dead people voted? How many votes cast by illegal immigrants (or legal residents) posing as those people? Absentee ballots? Were there other illegal mailers sent out by Riemer elsewhere in the County. How many voting under others' names vs. being illegally registered in their own name to cast a single illegal vote? This is why there are commissions to examine these things. Yet, the MoCo cartel is refusing to cooperate.

Definitely Zuckerberg's fault. I saw an interview where he said he devotes 50% of his time to trying to affect the outcome of a county council seat in MoCo.

    ReplyDelete
  34. 5:28: Certainly possible, given that Mitt Romney's Bain Capital devoted 100% of a $500 contribution to Hans Riemer for that same Council seat.
