Sport & Health makes a play for Fitness First members in Bethesda

Although it's unclear why the most active members of Fitness First would still be walking up to the shuttered gym on Wisconsin Avenue, give Sport & Health Bethesda credit for trying to fish for some of the stragglers still being shocked by the locked doors at 7900 Wisconsin Avenue. Sport & Health has posted a sign on the door of Fitness First, which closed last Friday night for good, inviting members to take advantage of a limited time offer.

Fitness First members who show their Fitness First membership card at Sport & Health's 4400 Montgomery Avenue gym will get a "special" membership rate.

Is this one of the two ads you referred to when you said you sold 2 ads this month?

  2. 6:06: Never said that. Sold two ads back in May. Ads are clearly marked as such (unlike on the small and slightly-failing magazine where, kudos to their readers, they've been called-out on that a couple of times recently).

On the BM article on their closing the comments were full of reps from like 20 other gyms tripping over themselves to nab FF members.

Yeah. We used to be the losers at FF, now we're in-demand quality member material.

These signs have been up since last weekend. When was the last time you got out of Westbard?

  6. 7:13: You were just caught in a lie again. I have already published photos of Fitness First after it closed last weekend, and this sport&health sign wasn't there. You're a pathological liar covering for the small and slightly-failing magazine that missed another scoop here.

Help me understand your thought process. How is this a scoop...you took a picture of a sign while standing on a sidewalk...a public right of way....how is this a scoop? This isn't news...at best an observation.

Why it's unclear - let me help you: it was a neighborhood gym. Myself as well as at least 40 others I know of lived within three blocks of the gym. We walk by that sign on the way to local restaurants, bars, stores, the metro, or when on a stroll. Common sense, Dyer. You can amend your story - now you know.

I doubt Dyer's in depth coverage of the Westbard Plan, the tragedy around the cemetery, restaurant reviews, analysis of various developments, work on pedestrian safety issues, breaking news reporting, etc. have anything to do with "pictures of signs".

Dyer is active in the community where he lives. What a concept!

Hope "Anonymous" is done with his harassment of Robert Dyer. Really creepy and repetitive at this point.

I sincerely hope "Anonymous" is at least getting paid for this.

Another Dyer clone comment about what someone makes. Why are they so obsessed?

Funny that there wasn't even one on Dyer's blog. I guess they know where Bethesdians get their news.

This meets a new level of idiocy even for Dyer. Why people would be walking by...it's a neighborhood gym. The area is walkable. Folks walk by on a daily basis.
