Too bad you weren't around yesterday. You could have caught the snow before most of it had already melted.

  2. 7:00: Yet, somehow I'm the only local news site with a full photo gallery of the snow in Bethesda. Clown comment, bro.

Probably because it isn’t newsworthy, creeper.

Anna, I have to disagree about Photo #7. If you have to squint to see the dusting of snow in that tree pot, it's not really a good snow photo.

Also curious about Community. Why is their sign still brightly lit, two months after they closed? I hope PEPCO doesn't get stiffed on the bill.

  6. Wait...isn't #7 the Jaleo pic? I liked the color and reflections. :)

7:52 AM - Not just that the sign is lit, but there are staff and customers inside Community.

When was this photo taken, Dyer? Obviously not last night.

    1. 8:14: Are you mentally ill? Community remains open as a burger restaurant. This photo was indeed taken last night.

Ha, Robert just asked someone if they were mentally ill.

      What is their new name?

Which reminds me...BB reported the closure of Community one day earlier than Robert, and its reopening as a burger restaurant four days earlier than Robert.

@ 8:14 AM - The former Community reopened as "One Scotch, One Burger, One Beer" nine days after it closed, but the sign hasn't been changed yet.

Glad we could be of help. At Bethesda Beat, we love our readers.

      Damn Zimmerman for the win.

10:46am & 11:47 am you're both wrong. According to their Facebook and signage, it's just called One Burger. And it didn't "close" for nine days. Stop posting fake news.

Hey, Dyer - how come you think it's OK to use "mentally ill" as an insult, but you get all triggered when a reader calls you "retarded"?

Dyer is no friend to the disabled.

@2:28 It changed names numerous times after closing as Community. Never a good sign when your menu is written on the back of a pizza box!

Right, but it's never been called one scotch. That was made up.

Dyer took seven pictures in and around Veteran's Square, but he seems to be deliberately hiding BGR.

So why hasn't the sign been changed yet?

  14. Anonymous5:32 PM

Community/One Burger's sign will be changed long before Robert Dyer sets the time-stamps of his Bethesda blog to the correct time zone.

  15. 11:09: It wasn't an insult. It was a genuine question, given what you had said in the comment I was responding to. Unlike your use of the now-forbidden "R" word.

10:37: It happened right outside their office, and they got at least two things wrong - as noted above by others, Community did not close for an extended time, and its new name is most certainly not "One Scotch, One Burger, One Beer."

"...and its new name is most certainly not "One Scotch, One Burger, One Beer."

So what is its new name?

    ReplyDelete
  17. 10:47: Initially, it had no stated name, even when others were reporting that fake name. Then it was called "Community Donut Window," but only on their social media. A few days ago, the Facebook page name was changed to "One Burger at Community."
