A Walt Whitman High School student was found dead today near the Bannockburn Swimming Club. Montgomery County police say Navid Nicholas Sepehri, 17, was discovered during a search today after going missing Saturday night, in a wooded area off of the 6500 block of Laverock Lane.
According to a message posted to a neighborhood listserv while Sepehri was missing, he was last seen at the 7-Eleven in Glen Echo around 11:30 PM Saturday. Whitman principal Alan Goodwin has confirmed Sepehri passed away in an email to parents. "We ask that you remember and celebrate his love of art and commitment to others," Goodwin wrote.
Sepehri is the second Whitman student to die in as many weeks. Anyone with information about this case is urged to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
He died of hypothermia
ReplyDelete4:09: That's what I've heard from a source, as well, although it hasn't been officially confirmed yet.
ReplyDeleteSince when has that ever stopped you?
ReplyDelete4:55: Considering I've broken all 4 big Whitman HS stories, including this one, it doesn't sound like you can stop me.
ReplyDeleteBoasting about breaking teen death stories and how you're unstoppable is kinda unseemly, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteSuch a sad and heartbreaking thing. My thoughts and strength go out to family, friends and anyone struggling with this loss.
5:50: Strange that you ignore the attack on me that precedes my self-defense. People who know of this area as an enlightened, highly-educated community must be shocked at the crass and ugly nature of the comments and attacks leveled at me for simply reporting the real news in Montgomery County. The level of daily abuse I have to take is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing. Perhaps you should consider getting a new "job."
ReplyDeleteHypothermia? He wasn't in the middle of a wasteland. Has to be another causation for that, and probably not a good one. Sad.
ReplyDelete"Hypothermia has two main types of causes. It classically occurs from exposure to extreme cold. It may also occur from any condition that decreases heat production or increases heat loss. Commonly this includes alcohol intoxication but may also include low blood sugar, anorexia, and advanced age."
ReplyDeleteIf the individual fell asleep outdoors, with insufficient clothing, in the freezing temperatures over the weekend, that would have been enough.
And once again, Dyer has made a story about a teen losing his life into something all about himself, boastful even.
ReplyDeleteDespicable. Unseemly.
Anna, I think you are making this story about Dyer. Why do you bother to come to the blog. Always writing nasty comments--do you not have anything better to do with you time?!?
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Rehashing the same grievances against dyer on every article is just disruptive to those of us wanting to converse here. Of course, that's your goal.
DeleteHere's what I see-
ReplyDeleteDyer wants to make it all about Dyer at 5:04 and 5:57.
8:18 wants to make it all about Anna.
Anna wants to make it about the teen and his family and friends.
Either passed our or fell asleep drunk and died of hypothermia. Sad.
ReplyDeleteWhere were his friends?
"Considering I've broken all 4 big Whitman HS stories, including this one, it doesn't sound like you can stop me."
ReplyDeleteWhat in the fuck are you talking about, Dyer? This is simply a regurgitation of an earlier MCPD news release. You didn't "break" anything. What in the hell is wrong with you?
@ 8:42, Anna's fake empathy for the family and friends of the victim are only meant for the pleasure of ridiculing the blogger. Read her previous comments on other stories and you will see what most of us already know-- That she is a troll.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time that bullies get attacked. If Anna wants to bully the blogger, then she should expect to be attacked for her bullying. Enough of this cyber bullying!
ReplyDelete7:29 & 8:49 AM
ReplyDeleteI might have thought that as well, except I actually did, while in the tropics of all places.
Everyone's body is different. And someone wearing the wrong clothes (like wet cotton) with a low body fat content could get there more quickly than we may wish to think.
There are no words for this kind of loss. Prayers are with this and other families grieving his month.
Only Dyer is cruel enough to take a tragedy and use it to prop up his hobby blog. This isn’t a scoop, it’s a tragedy. Moreover, you copied a press release so cut the crap and your narcissistic and superiority complexes.
ReplyDeleteA stock photo of a speeding police car is not the most appropriate for this story. I recommend either a picture of Walt Whitman or a rainbow.
ReplyDelete2:07/9:33: It's called the news, idiot. There are many details in this article you will never find in the "press release" you refer to. In fact, it was a "superior" report for that reason. I have the sources in Bethesda "and the surrounding towns." 4 out of 4 on Whitman stories. This is THE source for Walt Whitman news in Bethesda.
ReplyDelete11:44: Excellent description. The MoCo political cartel is engaging in cyberbullying through the troll comments on my website. This will be an embarrassment for them during the 2018 election. Imagine -- the ultimate politically-correct officials' staffs are engaging in cyberbullying. Maybe Chris Evans will invite me to the Avengers premiere.
2:55: Not only is the police car stationary, but it is indeed appropriate for a story involving the police finding a deceased person in the woods, and conducting an investigation into the death. Think about it.
Sadly, it looks like the parents who may or may not have been home at the time of the house party have diplomatic immunity.
