Business groups to hold MoCo Democratic county executive debate April 27

Several Montgomery County and regional business groups will host a debate between Democratic candidates for County Executive on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 8:00-10:30 AM at The Universities at Shady Grove. Republican Robin Ficker is also running for the office, but has not been invited to participate. Attendees will also receive a presentation on County economic indicators from Anirban Basu (pictured) of the Sage Policy Group.

The event is free, but you need to register online in advance.

Why would Ficker be invited? He's a Republican.

Does Basu go to the same barber as Dyer?

Don't know about that, but their expertise on the economy is night and day. [Actually the same could be said by every economist and observer compared to Dyer and his tired "Hans Riemer's former employee said" source].

I've seen Basu's presentations and he's obviously knows his stuff. If I recall, he's an adviser to Gov. Hogan.

One thing's for sure, he would certainly get a chuckle reading some of the moribund, sky-is-falling nonsense written on this blog.

Same for Jason Samenow of the Capital Weather Gang.

Even Dyer can’t control the narrative on his own blog anymore. There’s so many negative comments Robert can’t delete them quick enough.

"The County is currently facing a budget shortfall of $208,000,000."

Not sure where you got that number from. The last number I saw was $120,000,000, and that was before spending cuts of $53,400 were announced back in January, reducing the gap to $66,600,000.

Your number is off by a factor of more than 3 times.

  9. 6:26: You're so out of it, you're talking about the FY-2018 shortfall of $120 million. Please join us in 2018, where the FY=2019 budget must close a $208 million shortfall, as I correctly stated.

8:54: I doubt Basu would use the fake data you're encouraging him to deploy. My stats are from the U.S. BLS.

5:59: One clown troll trying to post as several "people" isn't a narrative.

Why no mention of Hogan's latest scandal?
