Hannah's Barber Shop could be first retail tenant at Gallery Bethesda 2

A source tells me Hannah's Barber Shop will be one of the first - if not the first - retail tenants to move into the ground floor of the brand-new Gallery Bethesda 2 luxury apartment tower at 4850 Rugby Avenue. The fit-out of the space is expected to take about five months. So until then, keep reporting to Hannah's existing location for your haircut, at 8007 Norfolk Avenue.

Unwritten Suburban News Network Commenting Rule #1,378:

Any and all comments reporting the closing of Chevy Chase Design Center, on Montgomery County's Rodeo Drive, which is now a strip of vacant storefronts, aging apartments and smashed-out bus shelters, due to the flight of the super-rich from Montgomery County, will be promptly deleted.

    Dyer haters out in force.
Glad to see you’re following my advice, namely to confine yourselves to insults. You don’t want to be awarded the »Correct me if I’m wrong » Memorial Prize.
Might want to add a bit more substance, though.

  4. Sigh...for the umpteenth time...

I can't speak for anyone else, but as for me...I hate no one. FYI, hate is one of those negative things that attract other negative things, so it's not in my spirit to hate.

I've said (too many times) I don't dislike him, I just don't like him. Which is quite different.

    »Correct me if I’m wrong »

Well, you're using those European-style punctuation marks (guillemets) wrong. The first one should be "«" the open-quote, not "»", the close-quote. Also, no space before the close-quote at the end.

But you forgot to include "y'all" this time.

  6. But tell me @10:37AM, why do you care?

"Might want to add a bit more substance, though."

Says the guy who jumps in and yells at other readers without having anything to say about Hanna's Barber Shop moving to Gallery II.

  8. I've never posted that. You're mixing me up with someone else. If it's not in my name, I didn't post it.

I do, on occasion use that contraction, but as anyone worth their grain knows, the plural is "all y'all" and that's what I use here.

As for the guillemets, are you sure the first one is wrong and not the last? Or maybe they are correct and they're Finnish.

Robbie, is this you doing "The Handmaid's Tale" in solidarity with the women of Alabama?

    Dear Anna,

    You’re right, and I apologize.

You do not project hate, nor do you use hateful language.

You said why you post so much, so I should answer you. I feel that Robert Dyer is a huge asset for us. I get a lot of interesting information from this blog. He doesn’t deserve the constant heckling.

So many comments are absurdly trivial. Who cares? Why bother?

Many comments are not made in good faith. « Correct me » is egregious: making up figures (wrong by a factor of 10) to attack Dyer — for something he MIGHT POSSIBLY say.

Hence my helpful advice to your fellow Dyer Detractors.

Keep up the good work, Robert!

Saith «Anonymous» @ 10:37 AM: "Dyer haters out in force. Glad to see you’re following my advice, namely to confine yourselves to insults."

    You mean like these?

    "Unlike you, carpetbagger."

    "Sorry, chump."

    "Your carpetbaggerness is showing again."

"the Council is not only crooked, but perhaps mentally ill, as well."

    "Wrong, Saul Alinsky."

    "Carpetbaggers of the world unite!!"

"No kidding, Saul Alinsky. But understandable a carpetbagger like you doesn't know..."

"Understandable that as a carpetbagger, you don't realize that..."

"Kind of hard to do when you're being killed by an ice shard dropping 800 feet, Einstein."

All from Robert Dyer, and just in the past three days.

    Touché.
I’ll admit I indulged in an insult or two also (« full of sh*t »).
    Let’s all forego insults.

I agree with 3:02-- there's often useful (and free) information on this site that's not found elsewhere, and "So many comments are absurdly trivial" (*Guillemets*? *Really*?)

The Dyer speaks the truth. MoCo progressives have to do everything possible to keep him from exposing the council from behind the curtain. It's so apparent. Even a post on a barber shop relocating draws out the Leftists for an attack.

The current property where Hannah's is located has been incorporated into an expanded version of the Claiborne condo project, so Hannah's has to move eventually. The property where Thelo's Greek restaurant is located is also incorporated into the new Claiborne project, so presumably Thelo's too will have to move or close.
