Norfolk Avenue Starbucks being renovated during coronavirus closure

Shuttered Starbucks nationwide to
remain closed through May 3

The Norfolk Avenue Starbucks store in downtown Bethesda is one of many non-drive-thru locations closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Wildwood Shopping Center is the one corporate spokespeople are referring Bethesda customers to at this time. Starbucks just announced a few days ago that currently-shuttered stores will now remain closed through May 3. That appears to have left enough time for an update to the interior of the Norfolk Avenue store.

It wasn't long ago that the Norfolk Avenue store was renovated as part of a nationwide update. I can find no announcement or plan for a similar store upgrade effort from Starbucks at this time. It certainly makes sense to take care of anything that needs fixing or touching up while they are already closed, rather than having to close the store and lose money later. Workers were wearing masks and practicing social distancing inside the store.
