Saks Fifth Avenue |
Protests related to the death of George Floyd that have turned violent in the District and in other cities were mostly peaceful in upper Montgomery County today. But looters struck in the Friendship Heights area of Chevy Chase early this afternoon.
Windows were smashed at Mazza Gallerie and Saks Fifth Avenue. Merchandise was taken. Montgomery County police responded to the scenes, but have not issued a public statement as of this writing.

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised.
ReplyDeleteOh please.
ReplyDeleteI lived inBethesda in the 1980s. I quickly fell in love with Washington DC . I had 4 wonderful years living in the US, such friendly lovely people such a beautiful country. I was sad to leave the US . I am broken hearted that a once great country has degenerated to such a state. Every single state plunged into civil unrest. America is better than this. People are people we all bleed red. Your country needs to get rid off that crazed president and clean out bad police like that monster who murdered George Floyd. Inhuman unacceptable incomprehensible behaviour from a ‘man’ who is meant to defend citizens not murder them. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the US but you as a country need to improve, a great deal. Get rid of the guns for starters, it won’t happen as the NRA won’t allow that. Introduce social welfare for the unemployed of which you have millions. Universal healthcare like we have here in Australia. Make college accessible financially to all who wish to attend. Schools need to have classes on anti racism . The world is wallowing . I despair. Come on , Americans deserve so much better. Good luck to you all.
