3 cars stolen in Wildwood area of Bethesda

After a relatively-quiet fall, car thieves are returning with the winter winds to Bethesda. Three cars were reported stolen to the Montgomery County police yesterday in the community around the Wildwood Shopping Center.

The first vehicle was taken from the driveway of a home in the 10000 block of Edward Avenue. Car number two was stolen from a driveway in the 10500 block of Farnham Drive, and car number three was snatched from a driveway in the 6700 block of Buttermere Lane.

For good measure, the thieves also took items from cars in the nearby 6700 block of Renita Lane and 6700 block of Surreywood Lane. With their targeting of blocks numbering 6700, it appears the thieves may be numerologists as well as perpetrators of grand theft auto. Even if you don't live in a 6700 block, however, make sure to lock your car doors and remove any visible items from the cabin.
