Pepco work near Bethesda Metro Center; lane closures expected Monday on Montgomery Ave., E-W Highway

This is the golden age of utility work in downtown Bethesda. It seems at least one utility crew is working somewhere downtown every day of the week. Most work has been on Wisconsin Avenue, but here is Pepco working near The Metropolitan and Bethesda Metro Center.

More work is ahead. Most of time, the public is not informed in advance, but one known project is a utility relocation related to the Purple Line is planned for Monday. An eastbound lane of Montgomery Avenue will close on or about Monday, March 8, 2021 near Pearl Street; the closure will extend onto East-West Highway, and end around Chatham Road.

The closure will last two days, weather permitting. Work will take place between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
