Man with the Golden Gun arrested for armed robbery of Bethesda Row Apple Store

The alleged Man with the Golden Gun who has been sought by Montgomery County police in the October 22, 2022 armed robbery of the Bethesda Row Apple Store is now in custody, police announced today.  Tyrone Lamont Jones, 32, of Capitol Heights has been charged with "armed robbery related charges" that were not detailed by police. Jones is being held without bond.

Detectives confirmed that the golden gun had an extended magazine. They also revealed that Jones was color-coordinated, allegedly fleeing the Apple Store robbery in a gold Cadillac. He was driving the Cadillac when he was arrested in Prince George's County on November 3, police say. Items tying Jones to the robbery were allegedly found in the vehicle with him. Police have released a photo of the now-infamous golden gun.

Wrong, because Elrich will bring him to MC and release him with a promise not to do it again.

10:12 I sense the intended sarcasm in your response but... the criminal was actually caught? And is being held no bond? Not sure of the point of your reply.

There's the spirit, @3:05. Never stop carping, even though you are getting precisely what you asked for: criminals caught and held. No sour grapes here; keep walking.

12:08PM I would take it that @10:12AM was targeting his reply at the numerous, conservative, imbeciles, who target Elrich for every crime that occurs in their saintly community.

@10:12 AM: They'd catch more of them if the police department was the size it should be for a county this size. The MoCo Police Department is less than half the size it should be.

This Report speaks for itself: https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/council/Resources/Files/agenda/cm/2022/20220131/20220131_PS2.pdf

"The Committee has received regular updates on Police staffing and is well aware that while the Department’s staff has historically been lower than the average for similarly-sized jurisdictions, Montgomery County continued to have relatively low crime rates. After taking significant budget cuts during the great recession, Police staffing increased slowly over the past 10 years, from 1,159 authorized sworn positions in FY12 to a high of 1,306 in FY21."

    ............

"For FY22, MCPD has an authorized sworn complement of 1,281 officers. This number reflects 1.2 officers per 1,000 residents. It is significantly lower than the average 2.8 officers per capita reported for counties, and the 2.5 officers per capita reported for suburban areas. While per capita staffing is just one measure of police department strength, it is important to note that MCPD’s per capita staffing has remained about 1.2 for almost 20 years."

It's a deliberate policy of the One-Party Democrat County Leadership not to sufficiently increase the size of the force to address the current crime issues. In fact, it was a deliberate decision by the One-Party Democrat County Leadership to disband the Auto Theft Unit during a stolen car wave due to FY 2021 budget cuts: https://wtop.com/montgomery-county/2021/10/montgomery-co-man-recovers-his-own-stolen-car-from-dc/

"Montgomery County Police Department’s auto theft unit was disbanded earlier this year because of FY 2021 budget cuts."

@8:00 PM: There are still too many on the street. Nothing "Sour Grapes" about that.

@12:08 PM: Because it never should have gotten to this point. This individual has a substantial criminal history and never should have been on the street to commit this armed robbery in the first place.
