The future realigned segment of Westbard Avenue between River Road and the entrance to the Westwood Shopping Center in Bethesda is beginning to take visible shape. A sizeable stretch of its right-of-way and road bed are now delineated. Above that, it is still dirt and gravel. It looks like some stormwater infrastructure is also being installed. The new road segment is expected to be completed by the end of September.

Can't wait for the River Road to shopping center segment is open! All the detours are making people crazy and hurting the remaining shop business.
Amen 11:39. With curbing going in, why will this take until September to complete.
Meanwhile, the stretch of Westbard from the Giant to Mass Ave is dangerous - daily lane closures. Watch your step!
