Wool & Knots has officially closed at 7801 Old Georgetown Road in downtown Bethesda. The rug shop had a successful 20-year run here, an eternity in the challenging business environment of Montgomery County, and has been holding a closing sale for the last year. Inside, the space has been cleared out, and brown paper is up over the windows. Wool & Knots founder Ali Ahmadi's father was the founder of the Pars rug store in Abadan, Iran in 1960.
