Ever since the police station moved from Montgomery Avenue and holed up in an apartment building on Rugby Avenue it has been going to hell in a handbasket.

  2. Disturbing on all fronts obviously. But it's particularly troubling that the recent assaults reported here have all taken place in broad daylight. Thanks to your county exec for his outright concealed carry ban after SCOTUS ruled the opposite. Not allowing good guys to carry a gun, if they choose to, only benefits the bad guys. Get it?

None of these legislators have to walk among the peasants and experience the realities.

Disturbing, yes, but (as with the recent report on the assault near the high school-- and Metrobus stop, which might have been, or been closer to, to the actual location of the reported incident) there's no context here.
In other news, someone on Bethesda Row tripped on Saturday, around 5:00 p.m.. . .

  5. What does the relocation of the police station have to do with this?
And how are the police "holed up" now, as opposed to in their old location?
And, what are the actual statistical trends on reported crimes of different types in Bethesda?

Three knee-jerk, pearl clutch:51ing, comments that make no sense.
11:51 - Location, location, location. They can't be everywhere you want, and besides, the old location was nowhere near, this incident, making your point moot.
1:59 - Like most of this crime warnings, you don't know just how severe this "assault" was, but here you are wanting to bring a howitzer in place of a cap gun. Ridiculous.
    7:30 - It's crime time anytime.

Could this be two homeless guys in a tiff over a beer? I don't think concealed carry would necessarily be the answer. Look forward to a couple more details.

Paraphrasing Glenn Campbell: By the time they get to the crime scene, they'll be gone!

" I don't think concealed carry would necessarily be the answer." An armed society is a polite society. If thugs think someone could be armed, they move along. Way less crime in places with concealed carry.

"Paraphrasing Glenn Campbell: By the time they get to the crime scene, they'll be gone!" That's too funny!!!

  10. 6:27 - 💯 correct. Dumb ass politicians like Elrich make this local community less safe. Crooks have guns and good guys don't because they can't. With all the other important things going on, Raskin (another proud son of Takoma Park) holds a summit on gun control. Wake up! Stop voting every Dem politician into office. Time for a change. Dem party gives two craps about you and your family and it shows. MoCo no longer one of the best places to live. The list of problems is long and they do nothing.

Sad to say we're such slow learners. A few more victims of crime is just what we need to right our floundering ship. It'll get there eventually but may be too late to save our values and neighborhoods.
