The MI Cafe at the Marriott International corporate headquarters at 7750 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda has been open for less than two years. But it has been closed for two days for "upgrades and repairs." Hopefully the upgrades will include adding the Mighty Mo burger to the regular menu - it's a crime that Marriott's most-famous dish is not currently served at its world headquarters. MI Cafe will reopen for normal business hours at 7:30 AM on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Marriott International HQ cafe already renovating in Bethesda

It truly seems like a missed opportunity to not celebrate the formation of Marriott with a replica Hot Shoppe. I am new to this area, but think a reverence for a past landmark would be a great feature in the lobby of their world headquarters. It almost seems that Marriott is somehow ashamed of their humble beginnings as a Root Beer stand.
Perhaps, instead, Marriott should be proud of its humble beginnings and ashamed of what it has now become
Or maybe y'all are just bringing your own weird baggage to this and Marriott simply doesn't think a coffee stand is a logical place to grill and sell fast food burgers.
9:20 AM - They don't necessarily have to sell the Mighty Mo in the cafe, but it should at least be sold somewhere in the hotel. To have the Mighty Mo and other legendary Hot Shoppes menu items sold at the Marriott Marquis downtown, and at Marriott hotels overseas(!!), but not at the Bethesda HQ is simply bizarre.
But for one hour on one day last year, they did sell the Mighty Mo, and it was sold inside the cafe.
That cafe is a great place to meet and get a drink and a snack in Bethesda.
