The signage that was installed at Beth's Cafe & Bar at 4948 Fairmont Avenue in Bethesda last week has now been activated. Specializing in American cuisine, the restaurant will share the building with ala and - eventually - Fairmont Grill. Beth's Cafe & Bar is expected to open in the coming days. Not the most effective, eye-catching signage, but I wish them well.
ReplyDeleteRobert, is this the same group behind Ala? Friends went to Ala recently and raved about it. Bethesda is adding a few good places which is great. Let's hope something good comes into the former Anthony's spot which has great curb appeal. Great location. Lastly, I wish the guys from Cava, who are opening restaurants left and right, consider downtown Bethesda.
ReplyDeleteJAC, I believe it is the same ownership, but have not confirmed that information yet. I have tried to think what national chains might fit inside the Anthony's space. It is around 3,000 SF, I believe. Slightly bigger than Gordon Ramsay's Fish & Chips in D.C.
DeleteJAC - the food is pretty good at Ala but the vibes are awful - harsh 5,000k white light
ReplyDeleteHopefully a Jewish Deli or Irish Pub :)
