Auto thieves casing Massachusetts Avenue corridor in Bethesda again

Auto thieves are on the prowl again in one of their favorite haunts in Bethesda, the neighborhoods along the Massachusetts Avenue corridor. Two cars have been stolen from homes there in recent days. The first was taken from the driveway of a house in the 6000 block of Massachusetts Avenue itself in the early morning hours of December 26, 2025. A second vehicle was stolen from along the street in the 4800 block of Bayard Boulevard in the Crestview neighborhood at 1:30 AM on Sunday, December 28.

Take advantage of this warning to ensure your vehicle is locked, and that your keys are in the house, not in the glove compartment or ignition(!!). If possible, park in a garage or in a well-lit spot. Remove all valuables from the interior of the vehicle. When in doubt, invest in The Club or a similar steering wheel anti-theft device.

The broken record on repeat while McCarthy and the council figure out ways to increase road diets and enforce leaf blower laws without pictures, (in case they catch an illegal).

Manual transmission is the greatest anti-theft device at least in this country. The Club is the second greatest.

You mean the "Back Scratcher?"

Are you not giving them too much credit?

They think that 'road diets' will slow down the perpetrators until PoPo arrives. . .

At least they didn't do 50 like in Howard County last night.

If I say "I Hate McCarthy" vehemently at my summonsed Voir Dire next week, will I be dismissed from contention? Serious question, responsible replies only please.

What can one expect when just over the border at Western Ave if one calls their po-po to report 'people walking on street pulling on car door handles,' hears the response 'that's not illegal.'

Happens at least once a week in Battery Park. They also use a flashlight so loose change or anything that looks interesting like a fast food bag results in broken glass.

No matter what, he will be reelected for a fourth term!

Sounds like a 'Quality Control' drill.

It is known as Assault in Battery Park.

Sniper rifles out the upper level windows, if you see a flashlight or any nefarious door handle tugging then line them up in your scope and pull the trigger, that will solve the problem... Oh, wait, we live in MoCo, have lib judges, McCarthy & pinko elected politicians!

Give us one jurisdiction (American) where that tactic is legal and successful.
