Sidewalk work at Cordell Avenue at Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda

Warmer weather has brought the return of sidewalk work in Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle neighborhood. Here it is at the intersection of Montgomery County road Cordell Avenue and state road Old Georgetown Road. Watch for sidewalk closures in the area. Follow detour signage posted around the work zone.

Wondering--only a few blocks away from this, BabyCat Brewery has amplified, very loud musical performances virtually every night. Which may be good for some of their customers, but certainly isn't being appreciated by every resident of the neighboring highrises. How do/can they get away with that, on a now-nightly basis???

The curb work a pvc piping they've put in makes it look like they're about to put up a crossbar traffic lights or some sort - maybe a HAWK crossing. But I can't find anything in MDOT records. Any idea Robert?

It is called bribing.

Last night I heard someone yelling at them, several times, to take their music inside, instead of inflicting it on everyone in the area. I agree. What Babycat Brewery is doing, increasingly loudly and frequently, is an imposition on people living only yards away who don't always want to hear their, or any, music.

It's called urban flavor, don't like it, move.

I don't need their flavor in my ear.

To those who are commenting and have not heard it, the music IS rather loud and I like the Friday concert series & the rooftop at Tommy Joe's doesn't bother me at all even though I can hear it waift over to Battery Lane. The Brewery however is extremely loud and obnoxious bouncing off of all buildings that I didn't even realize it was that bar since I forgot all about it. Now they've poked the Bear as well as the ire of that original poster.

How can the desk Sgt at the 2D PoPo station even concentrate since it's right across the damn street? All it takes is a simple walk across the street and write tickets for disturbing the peace... Oh wait, they won't even get out of their patrol cars while they're actively being smashed during street takeovers... Never mind!

Most mixed use multifamily rental buildings have leases that make tenants sign that they are aware that they in a mixed-use building that may include ground floor tenants that may create noise, outdoor dining activity, exhaust hood smells and have late hours. Life in the big city. Check your lease before you sign up.

So you guys complain about the lack of nightlife and activity in downtown Bethesda, then complain about the nightlife and activity in downtown Bethesda.

They also complain about the lack of taxpayers… while also complaining about new housing being built. Make it make sense.

Peak boomer nonsense. Hush.
