Silver & Sons BBQ started as a food truck, expanded into a bricks-and-mortar restaurant at Westbard Square in Bethesda, and now has another spot in Bethesda where you can find their unique Mediterranean-Jewish spin on barbecue. Look for their trailer parked outside the historic Bethesda Community Store at 8804 Old Georgetown Road, just north of Suburban Hospital. Initial operating hours will be Tuesday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Saturday 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, and Sunday 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. If you're wondering why a BBQ operation is open at 8:00 AM, that's because their menu includes breakfast sandwiches.
There are picnic tables for outdoor dining on-site. As for the Bethesda Community Store, it is still vacant. The current owners have renovated the structure in the hopes of attracting a tenant or buyer for the building.

Yes, the owners of Sandy Spring Builders, who did the renovation, are flipping it as the building is now officially for sale. Just over 2 million is gonna be tough to get certainly for food service.
As for Silver, it's really not that great. I tried their location at Westbard with high hopes but alas. The vast majority are looking for authentic BBQ whether TX, Memphis, or KC style and Silver offers a different twist. There's zero great BBQ anywhere in the immediate area. Mission is decent but not great and becoming a huge chain which makes it harder to turn out great cue just ask Aaron Franklin. 2Fifty in Riverdale is well with the drive. A truly excellent BBQ joint would do huge business in the area. High rent is likely a major deterrent.
No pork BBQ is akin to a Ruth's with no beef. Might be ok on a whim but not a go-to place for BBQ zealots. Perfect tho for the compromised we seem to nurture around here...
The brisket is very good but otherwise agree that it is not traditional BBQ. I want some good pulled pork, cole slaw, etc. 2Fifty is awesome but it is a trek to Riverdale, the DC location is not as good in my opinion.
Funny how all of these local gourmands are whinning about the bbq in this area yet make no mention of the Asian versions of bbq, those will surely tell you its different strokes, for different folks. Remember, with Silvers, its Jewish!
6:42 - People whine about the BBQ because what's in the immediate area isn't any good. Nothin wrong with Asian or Jewish style BBQ. Heirloom BBQ in Atlanta is top flight food which serves Korean style BBQ. Problem is, it's niche. What most are looking for and thinking of when it comes to bbq is the traditional styles made famous in several regions of the country. You may disagree but that's just true.
No disagreement just stating a fact. Most people go into a place labeled BBQ thinking traditional, and are disappointed by what they see or get. Case in point is Silvers a style of BBQ that breaks from tradition in most ways. Surely this is a shock to the mental palate of those who try it. Silvers obviously has an audience, otherwise they wouldn't be expanding. Apparently you aren't in the audience thank goodness.
Meanwhile; reported first by The Moco Show "One of Maryland’s Highest-Rated Church Properties Hits the Market for $15 Million in Bethesda", missed one.
7:59: I broke that story back on March 31:
