Montgomery County police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the Spring Hill neighborhood of Bethesda early yesterday morning. The theft was reported at a home in the 5200 block of Cammack Drive at 8:41 AM Thursday. Police believe the vehicle was taken sometime between 4:49 AM and 5:49 AM. They have not released a description of the missing vehicle.

then was is the point of the announcement?
To increase neighborhood awareness and remind us of the predators amongst us.
To put others in the neighborhood on alert, especially about the security of their own cars.
Actually it's more like to increase neighborhood awareness of the stupidity of your neighbors.
Don't know which is sadder, neighborhoods in decline because of lax prosecution by McCarthy or idiotic statements like 9:28.
The houses with the inviting signage just want to be burgled last.

“We are seizing upon educational opportunities to go out and try to use education, not arrests. Not ‘lock them up’ kinds of things, because to me, if I can prevent crime, if I can prevent victimization, and I think through educational programs we can do all of those things, it would be a much safer community,” McCarthy said.
It would be interesting to know how he plans to educate molesters and predators.
Yeah, McCarthy will need extra tax dollars to implement more entitlements because the only people he's interested in prosecuting are actual taxpayers.
When he is running against his shadow, for the sixth time, he figures that he can do whatever the heck he pleases.
