Always Ice Cream to open at Westbard Square in Bethesda
Always Ice Cream continues its rapid expansion into Montgomery County. It just announced a new location will open at 5335 Westbard Avenue at Westbard Square in Bethesda. The Maryland-based chain manufactures over 250 handcrafted flavors in the state. Currently operating locations in the Annapolis area, Always Ice Cream is now opening locations at Pike & Rose in Rockville, and in Charles County. The Westbard Square shop is expected to open next spring.

Nice addition. I assume this will be going in the ground level retail of the apartment building under construction. But I think a spring opening is very optimistic based on the current state of construction.
Great another ice cream place! Exactly what we need. Another bakery, coffee shop, or ice cream place! no wonder we all have diabetes and are over weight. There isn't a single gym that is affordable in Bethesda.
Looks amazing. The DC area ice cream game has been kicked up to a very high level in recent years. And it's great to see quite a few homegrown shops among them. You just can't get enough of good soft serve and it's tough to find these days unless you're at the beach. Not sure about Westbard but Pike and Rose should work very well indeed.
Exactly what we need. Another ice cream place!
7:02 - I am with you on the coffee and bakeries and don't forget pizza joints. But here, we just may have a place that's so good that it puts the other not so good ice cream shops out of business. As for health, ice cream isn't the worst offender out there. Lastly, this is Bethesda, among the most affluent areas in the entire country. Folks can afford any health club fees that are charged. Those who can't, go to Racquet and Jog and get fitted with a nice pair of running shoes and walk out the door. That'll cost you not more than $150.
So we all agree there's plenty of ice cream choices in Bethesda, but we're still missing one. I would like to see a place that offers frozen custard. I'm surprised neither Rita's not Carmen's has jumped in.
