Montgomery County police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda on March 14, 2025. The incident was reported at 3:47 PM at the mall. This is the second assault at the mall so far this year. There were 11 in 2024, 5 in 2023, and 12 in 2022.

Boy, is that mall not the safe and family-friendly shopping experience of my youth. At this point, they should knock the entire place down and do a Pike and Rose type "town". Full-scale malls have been dying for awhile. This won't get better.
Bethesda has become the second-degree assault capitol of the world. I'm afraid to go outside for fear of getting elbowed by a local Karen.
The mall used to be a safe place 20-30 years ago, now it's filled with VIOLENT gangs of inner city kids and foreigners...
