Dave's Hot Chicken will open today, December 18, 2025, at 11564 Rockville Pike, according to a sign posted at the restaurant, which was conducting training for employees last night. After a languid construction process, an inspired burst of energy over the last week got all the equipment and menus into place. Speaking of menus, I was not familiar with Dave's, and am delighted to see milkshakes and Hi-C Orange and Fruit Punch "Slushers" among the beverage choices. Operating hours are 10:30 AM to midnight, seven days a week.

Yes, they are known for their shakes. Funny thing is, their social media says they'll have a sneak peak today which one would assume is a "soft opening".It also states they'll open tomorrow. But all media, and the sign, as you point out, says they're opening today. Weird. Regardless, this will be packed initially but I'm looking forward to something that's guaranteed to be good every time and will also be around for many years. Lastly, it's nice to see a food place open as late as they're advertising.
Wait, you can't order just the sandwich? You have to pa for fries, too? Points off for that.
