ELVIS WEEK IN BETHESDA - CLOSE IT OUT LIKE THE KING!

It's been 35 years since Elvis Presley passed, well before his time.

Today is the final day of Elvis Week, a worldwide celebration of The King's life and immortal impact on music, film, TV, fashion and... food!

So, why not close out Elvis Week Elvis-style?

Which menu items around Bethesda would get The King's attention?  There aren't any fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches downtown.

But putting myself in the Elvis mindset, I've prepared a list of splurge-worthy treats fit for a King:

Food Wine and Co., 7272 Wisconsin Avenue

Elvis Sundae - An ultra-rich peanut butter and chocolate ice cream and banana dessert.

Hard Times Cafe, 4920 Del Ray Avenue

Mini Elvis Sliders -  3 beef sliders with cheese, pickles and a small side of fries.

Boloco, 4930 Elm Street

Jimmy Carter Shake - Peanut Butter, banana - a refreshing beverage The King would be unable to pass up on a hot day at Bethesda Row.  He might even grab a Memphis BBQ burrito to go with it!

Ri-Ra, 4931 Elm Street

Peanut Butter Pie - Peanut Butter filling, graham cracker crust, and topped off with chocolate- have the Colonel bring the Cadillac around front!

Kraze Burgers, 4733 Elm Street

The Matiz - Nobody makes Elvis' special-order burger, that was brought to his nightstand in later years. But this massive beef masterpiece is fully loaded, and includes the essential bacon!

Try one or more of these before midnight - capes are optional.

How are you celebrating Elvis Week?
