Escape Quest escape room to open in downtown Bethesda
Bethesda is getting a second escape room. Following last year's opening of Xcape Alive in the Westwood Center II mall on Ridgefield Road, Alexandria's Escape Quest is expanding to downtown Bethesda. Escape Quest will be located at 4936 Fairmont Avenue. Escape rooms have become a popular tenant in retail spaces where redevelopment is pending.
It would be helpful if you explained to your readers what an "escape room" is. Most have never heard of this.
ReplyDeleteAlso I am surprised that this property used to be The Relic, and has been vacant since their liquor license was revoked in 2012. Although I commend you for resisting the urge to post your usual argle-bargle about "15 closed nightspots".
Edit to @ 6:19 AM - second paragraph, first sentence should be: "Also I am surprised that you did not mention that this property used to be The Relic..."
ReplyDeleteAny room can be an escape room when you're left in it with bobby.
ReplyDelete7:09 AM Good morning Council staff!
ReplyDeleteI love what Dyer is doing for MoCo!
ReplyDeleteBetter than a vacant space, but not terribly exciting either.
ReplyDeleteDoes "Westwood II" really count as Bethesda? It's pretty far away from what most people consider real Bethesda. I would venture to say this is the first escape room in Bethesda.
ReplyDeleteHey, Dyer - Looks like the NoVa Cartel has their own Silver Spring Transit Center debacle, but on a much, much larger scale.

Ficker just held his campaign sign upside down.

Xcape Alive in the Westwood Center II mall appears to be closed. The web site returns a 404 error. No activity since January on their Facebook page.
ReplyDelete@4:24 Sounds like the owners...... escaped!
ReplyDelete(I'll be here all week)
7:50AM :) That would be the best case scenario.....
