Signage has been installed on the facade of the new Audi Bethesda dealership at 7015 Arlington Road. It's the latest example of modern German auto dealership architecture that we've seen in the last four years in Montgomery County, from Audi, BMW, Volkswagen and Porsche. Let's take a look back at the construction process, with the demolition of Crawford Tire, grading of the site, the building of the frame structure and walls, and - below - the latest phases of completion, with photos I haven't published before, in chronological order:

This looks awesome! Love to see all the development happening in Bethesda.
ReplyDeleteThere's probably room for another residential/commercial development on the Bradley Shopping Center parking lot next to Euro Motorcars. Any word on something happening there at some point?
This looks like a nice building on Arlington. Certainly more attractive than most automobile showrooms, and much better than the former tire store. A nice minimalist silver metal box, much like the cars sold within. It will soon be flanked on both sides by multi-family mixed use housing, with the proposed nine story high addition to Bethesda Row south. In some ways the sleek metal box is a nice foil to the mostly glass Mercedes dealer across the street.
ReplyDeleteI wish Ourisman Honda would clean up the back side of their parking deck facing Arlington Road. Nasty unpainted concrete block, and faded blue paint on the deck, really doesn’t make me want to buy a Honda. Just a nice simple coat of white paint to match their new dealership facade on Bethesda would be very welcome, and help complete their campus. It would be nice to see the train mural on the side of the deck facing the parking lot get refreshed as well.
I miss Crawford Tire!
ReplyDeleteHopefully the "Audi Bethesda" sign will be lit up at night, especially with the very conspicuous lighted signage for Euro Motorcars across the street (and given that it's part of the same auto group). I walked by the the new Audi dealership location this evening and the sign doesn't appear to be lit yet.
