Casa Oaxaca closes in Bethesda

The shocking restaurant closures just keep on coming in downtown Bethesda. Barely three weeks after Woodmont Grill closed its doors, Casa Oaxaca announced yesterday that it, too, is now permanently closed. Both restaurants were quite successful and appeared to be doing good business. Woodmont Grill has publicly given nonsensical reasons for its closure, and Casa Oaxaca has not yet stated a reason for its demise. Located at 4905 Fairmont Avenue, Casa Oaxaca opened in May of 2019. Their closure was first reported by The MoCo Show.

What better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo than with an early preview of Bethesda's newest Mexican restaurant? Casa Oaxaca, located at 4905 Fairmont Avenue, will host a soft opening preview event for the Mexican holiday today. They will be selling tacos and margaritas only today, May 5, 2019.

The official opening with full menu (see pictures here) is currently scheduled for May 10. Casa Oaxaca's space was previously home to TacoArepa and Fresh Grill.

Casa Oaxaca posts banner at future location in Bethesda

Casa Oaxaca, the Mexican restaurant and tequila and mezcal bar I reported has leased the space at 4905 Fairmont Avenue in Bethesda, posted a "Coming Soon" banner on the storefront Monday. It mentions a spring opening is planned. This was most recently home to TacoArepa.

Casa Oaxaca to take over TacoArepa space in Bethesda

The new tenant in the vacant TacoArepa space at 4905 Fairmont Avenue will keep the cuisine Latin American. Mexican restaurant Casa Oaxaca will take over there soon, having signed a lease a few weeks ago. It will be interesting to see how they utilize the outdoor patio area when the weather turns warmer.
