Bethesda SoulCycle teases return while advertising at-home cycling system

The fate of SoulCycle at 4931 Elm Street in downtown Bethesda has been pondered by many since the gym went dark during the pandemic lockdown earlier this year. Despite the facility not reopening since the lockdown on gyms was lifted, and other gyms calling it quits around town, SoulCycle has insisted it will eventually reopen.

Two months ago, classes were offered outdoors at a different location in White Flint. Now that frigid temperatures have set in, SoulCycle is promoting a Peloton-esque at-home system, but still insisting "studio reopening soon."

SOULCYCLE GRAND OPENING TODAY IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

The new SoulCycle cycling fitness studio opens today in Bethesda. This Saturday, December 20, there will be a Grand Opening celebration from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. A DJ will spin music, and there will be a photo booth and refreshments by Bethesda Row neighbor Sweetgreen.

Last night, workers were busy getting the gym ready, including installing the sign above the storefront. Branded apparel was also on display. SoulCycle is located in the Shoppes of Bethesda on Elm Street. The gym opening now restores two tenants within the space formerly occupied by Irish pub Ri-Ra (the second being Noodles and Company).

NEW COMING SOON SIGNAGE AT SOULCYCLE IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

SoulCycle isn't quite ready to open yet at the Shoppes of Bethesda on Elm Street. But downtown Bethesda's newest gym is still working to get potential clients fired up about it. New window wrap signage was installed yesterday. The cycling studio is taking over the other half of the old Ri-Ra space, splitting it with Noodles & Company, which is scheduled to officially open on Monday.

SOULCYCLE/NOODLES & COMPANY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE (PHOTOS)

There's a lot of work going on inside the former RiRa space on Elm Street, but the conversion of the Irish Pub into a spin fitness center and noodle restaurant is busting out through the exterior. SoulCycle and chain restaurant Noodles & Company are going to share the space. A separate, shopping center-wide renovation is also underway at the same time at the Shoppes of Bethesda.
