BETHESDA BP CONVENIENCE STORE ABANDONED (PHOTOS)

The shelves are bare, and the coolers empty, at the old Bethesda BP's convenience store, at the corner of Fairmont Avenue and Old Georgetown Road.

Part of the sign has been removed out front, as well. The convenience store is apparently out of business, but whether auto repairs will continue to be offered is unclear.

The property will eventually be redeveloped as a 17-story apartment building.

For posterity, here are some photos of this former Saab dealership on Old Georgetown Road.

The building has some very nice, Scandinavian modern architecture.  Among the Saab memorabilia still there when these photos were taken, is a poster that aludes to Saab's jet fighter heritage.
