Why are there so many assaults at westbard? Is there a lot more low income housing around there than I thought?
Related to shoplifting?
It might not have been clear in the original report, but, does "at the store" necessary mean, inside the store?
Or could this have been something that happened in the parking lot?
11:22: Typically, if the incident would have occurred on the parking deck, that would have been noted as having taken place in a "parking garage." In this case, MCPD indicated it occurred in the store.
8:15: Always a possibility; however, I did not see a shoplifting call for that time of day.
It was a crime waiting to happen. The building resembles Battle Star Galactica.
You need a golf cart in order to navigate through the endless isles of the store.
Live in Townhouses across the street. It was definitely inside the giant. I counted 7 police cars, 1 fire truck, and 1 ambulance. They went up to 3rd floor into Giant. Didn’t see them bring anyone out.
The parking lot design is conducive to crime.
And very few in the many decades before the center was blown up. And the Giant was better than the new one. Just saying.
I’m reasonably certain that a Fire Truck did NOT ascend the parking structure ramp to the 3rd floor entrance of the Giant.
If a Fire Truck ascended on the 3rd floor parking the building would collapse!
That sounds about right for a typical response.
The old Giant was a dive. Get real.
Interesting - If there was fire on the top of the parking deck, how would the fire dept.approach?
They have ladder trucks. Also, new buildings are equipped with sprinklers.
It resembles the annual Santa Claus motorcade.
That shopping center used to be filled with local business with store fronts that overlooked the parking. Developers considered people who knew you for years being in sight wasted space. Here you go. I'm so sorry for this community. There is really so many special valued customers who have been sold to the devil for a handful of magic beans.
Usually, after a crime report on this blog, commenters here blame MCPD for not having been omnipresent; now, they're being criticized for showing up "in force"? Show the men and women in blue some respect, already, you snarky whiners.
