Joe & the Juice opening Wildwood Shopping Center location

Joe & the Juice, the popular juice and coffee shop that already has a Bethesda Row location, will expand to the Wildwood Shopping Center this year. They will be located in a 1900 SF space between Sanctuary Interior Design and Irresistibles. The new store will open this summer, property owner Federal Realty announced yesterday.

“Since we opened our first store in Bethesda two years ago, our regular customers have asked us to come to Wildwood Shopping Center - and now we finally heard their call," Joe & the Juice's Valdemar Halbye said Thursday. "We can’t wait to open up a flagship location with our new expanded menu that includes omelettes and other breakfast items in addition to freshly made juice, coffee and sandwiches," he added.

The Wildwood Shopping Center, as I previously reported, will also add Bethesda Bagels and Flower Child this year. An addition was added, which will offer a new common area with lounge chairs for warmer weather, and 42 new parking spaces. “The combination of new tenants and our recent upgrades further creates a place where our cherished community is encouraged to gather, shop and dine," Federal Realty's Director of Asset Management Kari Glinski said yesterday.

Here's a sneak peek inside the new Joe & the Juice coffee shop and juice bar, opening tomorrow morning at 7263 Woodmont Avenue at Bethesda Row. The Danish chain brings another European-themed space to the Federal Realty development, and will offer a good selection of food to go with the beverages. You can preview the menu in the last photo at bottom.

You'll notice the sign is now lit, and Joe & Juice is promising a staff of "cool, hunky guys," as Business Insider described them. The music playlist will be customized for this location by staff members. Joe & the Juice in August reached a milestone of opening its 200th store worldwide. Bethesda will have a chance to find out why tomorrow morning.

The interior fit-out of juice bar Joe & the Juice is still in the early stages at 7263 Woodmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda. It appears the expected August opening will certainly be delayed at this point.

The first public sign of my scoop that Joe & the Juice is opening at Bethesda Row has appeared on Woodmont Avenue. "Coming Soon" ad screens have been installed on the storefront, which previously was home to Max Brenner. The shop, which promises fresh-pressed juice served by "cool, hunky guys," is expected to open in August.

A Danish juice bar Forbes calls "the next Starbucks" is coming to Bethesda Row. Joe & the Juice will move into the vacant Max Brenner space next to Jaleo at 7263 Woodmont Avenue. They are shooting for an August opening, but the date is not confirmed yet, a company spokesperson said this morning.

Healthwise, the newcomer will be a 180 degree change from the chocoholic Max Brenner. Launched in Copenhagen in 2002, Joe & the Juice has made the jump to America, with a growing number of locations in New York City, Miami and San Francisco.

In addition to fresh-pressed juices like Hell of a Nerve (strawberry, elderflower, banana), Young Blood (celery, cinnamon, apple), and Sex Me Up (passionfruit, apple, ginger), they also serve shakes, juice shots, sandwiches and coffee.

According to Forbes, the juice bar emphasizes an energetic atmosphere as much as health, referring to hiring of staff as "casting." Business Insider promises all of the employees will be "cool hunky guys" heavily steeped in "bro culture." Each store's staff creates their own music mixes; here is a sample from last year.
