Westbard shooting suspect(s) remain at large for a third week

The suspect(s) in the March 29, 2025 shooting on Westbard Avenue in Bethesda have managed to evade capture for a third week. And we have to continue to say "suspect(s)," because the public hasn't even been informed of how many shooters there were, or what exactly happened outside the Bowlero bowling alley at 12:13 AM that morning. What we do know is that two people were wounded in the shooting, multiple ear-witnesses claim they heard twenty to thirty shots being fired, and that numerous shell casings were recovered over a wide area.

While the Montgomery County Council has much to say about firearms and gun violence, they have been strangely silent about the Westbard shooting. Who fired the shots? Where did they come from? Where are they now? Where's the accountability? Inquiring minds want to know.

Not really a priority by those in Rockville or Annapolis as they have so many other things that are more important. I think they should consider taking another lane from OGR for wheelchair access or perhaps make possession of a gas powered leaf blower a felony.

Not to worry, we're in good hands but sometimes all we get is old wine in a new bottle:

The MoCo County Council is silent due to NIMBY mentality.

If they could find the j6ers using cellphones I don’t understand why the can’t find these shooters. It doesn’t take kojak to figure this out!

Does MCPD publish their 'solve' statistics? I don't remember hearing anything of any successes.

Honestly people. There’s a big difference between an act of insurrection where a National agent was forced to kill someone and a local shooting where no one was seriously injured. The FBI and the MCPD aren’t exactly comparable, even after the FBI was defunded (ironic, right?) and even if they were, this crime is not going to be their highest priority, nor should it be.

4:49: I have to differ on the question of seriousness - the spread of shell casings in the vicinity was extensive. The outcome only wasn't worse because no cars were passing at the time the shots were fired. Moreover, we live under an unconstitutional set of gun laws justified by our elected officials as necessary to prevent crimes just like this. Yet, when the rubber - and shell casings - hit the road, all the righteous pontificating is exposed as an ideological ruse.

It may be inconvenient politically to identify who the suspect(s) are, and their geographical location. Or they have some political pull that is protecting them from prosecution. Unfortunately, the longer the passage of time, and the greater the scarcity of information provided by authorities, the more the community turns to speculation as to what's going on here.

In the age of cameras, license plate readers, and phone tracking, an inconvenient truth: the only people who can't be found are those we don't want to find. That no arrest has been made 23 days later, simply beggars belief.

"Kash Patel flew to Miami on Air Force One last weekend to watch an Ultimate Fighting Championship event, wearing his signature wraparound sunglasses — at least the second time he has gone to a mixed-martial arts fight as F.B.I. director." --NYT

Now that's what I call a active, hands-on, working, director. (Eye roll).

On the Monday following the shooting, I saw a police investigator (his appearance was straight out of the movies) looking around and writing in his notebook in those two parking lots. He looked pretty serious.

I also saw what appeared to be several bullet holes on each side of the then boarded-over Bowlero side (main) glass door entrance.
