Moby Dick House of Kabob opens in White Flint

There's a delicious new dining option in White Flint. Moby Dick House of Kabob has opened its latest area location at 11431-A Rockville Pike. This was previously a Verizon store, located next to 7-Eleven in the shopping center that is also home to Matreshka Russian Gourmet. The local Persian chain got its start in downtown Bethesda in 1989, and has an existing Rockville location at the Fallsgrove Village Center, and 21 others in the Washington, D.C. region.

Moby Dick House of Kabob has made their move - but it's only one door down from their old location. The popular Persian restaurant has gone from 7023 Wisconsin Avenue to 7027 Wisconsin, formerly home to Stromboli Family Restaurant. Moby Dick has posted a video of the new location:

Moby Dick House of Kabob has installed the permanent sign on the front of their newly-expanded location at 7023-7027 Wisconsin Avenue. The 7023 space was formerly home to Stromboli Family Restaurant. Initially, the ownership of Moby Dick had planned to relaunch Stromboli in their current 7027 Wisconsin space, but as Eater DC reported last fall, plans changed to favor just expanding Moby Dick.

Moby Dick just won its first Rammy award, in the category of "Favorite Fast Bite." The local chain recently expanded from the D.C. area to Baltimore, as well. Here's a look at some recent construction photos of the expanded restaurant:

The planned move of Moby Dick House of Kabob into the former Stromboli space at 7023 Wisconsin Avenue looks like it's more ambitious than originally thought. A wall between the Stromboli space and the vacant Town Jewelers store next door is being punched out, apparently to create one larger restaurant space. Stromboli will then open under new ownership in the former Moby Dick space in 2018. Moby Dick remains open for business during construction.
