Peet's Coffee & Tea opens at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda (Photos)

After a long delay, Peet's Coffee & Tea has opened at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. It is located near bebe and Talbots on Level 1, in the Sears wing of the mall.

While Peet's is a kiosk, it does have seating available, as well as spots to work on your laptop - which customers were already taking advantage of on Saturday.

Not only is the kiosk new, but they are also offering two new iced coffee drinks right now, Cold Brew and The Black Tie.

This is Peet's second Bethesda location, with the other being in downtown Bethesda at Old Georgetown Road and Woodmont Avenue. Peet's took over several locations of Caribou Coffee in the area last year, after both chains were controlled by the same ownership.

Construction has begun on the future Peet's Coffee & Tea at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. It replaces the already-closed Caribou Coffee, and will be a kiosk. The chain took over several Caribou locations in the area, including downtown Bethesda's.
Peet's will face well-established competition in the mall's Starbucks and Aroma coffee shops. It is located near The Art of Shaving, Talbots and Forever 21 on the lower level.

PEET'S COFFEE & TEA PLANS NOVEMBER OPENING AT WESTFIELD MONTGOMERY MALL

 The second Bethesda location of Peet's Coffee & Tea is now scheduled for a November opening, a company spokesperson reports. They are currently hiring staff for the Westfield Montgomery Mall store. Peet's opened its first location in Bethesda earlier this year, on Old Georgetown Road.

Peet's Coffee & Tea confirms that its downtown Bethesda location at 7629 Old Georgetown Road, will open next Monday, May 19 - if all goes as planned. Peet's replaces Caribou Coffee. A second Bethesda Peet's, at Westfield Montgomery Mall, will take a bit longer to open.

Peet's Coffee & Tea installed its permanent signs on Wednesday, replacing the former Caribou Coffee name on the building facade. Construction continues inside the coffee shop, which is one of two Peet's locations opening soon in Bethesda. The other will be at Westfield Montgomery Mall.

The final moments of Caribou Coffee in downtown Bethesda have been captured on film for posterity. Workers were removing the last vestiges of the brand from the building yesterday. The space will sell caffeine again when it reopens as Peet's Coffee and Tea this spring.

CARIBOU COFFEE TO CLOSE IN BETHESDA ON MARCH 16 (PHOTOS)

Caribou Coffee will pour its final cup at 4:00 PM this coming Sunday, March 16, in downtown Bethesda. The downtown Bethesda store says that diehard Caribou fans can continue to enjoy their coffee at Caribou's Silver Spring and Rock Creek Village stores.

This Caribou will reopen in the spring as Peet's Coffee and Tea.

Stop by Fresh Baguette at 4919 Bethesda Avenue this morning until noon, to try free samples from Peet's Coffee and Tea. Peet's Coffee will take over Caribou Coffee's space in downtown Bethesda this spring, but you can try their coffee now and pass an early verdict. Of course, Fresh Baguette suggests your coffee will be even better with one of their croissants!
