Orangetheory Fitness Bethesda temporarily closed due to flood

Orangetheory Fitness
at 7955 Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda has canceled classes for tonight and tomorrow, after a flood in the studio this afternoon. A team has been called in to assess the damage, and determine what caused the flood, and a timeline for the cleanup process. Members should receive text message updates on class status and a reopening date. In the meantime, the studio said it will try to accomodate as many members as possible at their Rockville and Park Potomac locations.

Tobacco & More Mart opening in downtown Bethesda (Photos)

It turns out the new store opening at 7809 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda is going to offer a lot more than CBD products, as shelves and displays begin being stocked. Tobacco & More Mart will sell tobacco and CBD products, and...more. "More" includes chips, bottled water, snacks and candy. And incense sticks and smoke odor "exterminator candles." So it will be a hybrid of smoke shop and convenience store.

Bethesda Nike Store construction begins (Photos)

Construction is getting underway at the future Nike Store at 7117 Arlington Road at Bethesda Row. Yesterday, construction fencing was erected around the entrance and sidewalk immediately in front of the store. "Coming soon" signage posted in the windows is still visible. One invites you to become a Nike member, and another provides a website to apply for jobs at the future store.

Westbard Square construction update (Photos)

Let's check on the progress of the Westbard Square development at 5400 Westbard Avenue in Bethesda. You can see some very detailed brick facade work now on large areas of the future Giant building, which will also house office space and additional ground-level storefronts. But below those photos, you'll also see images from another part of the work going on around the closed block of Ridgefield Road at River Road, where Westbard is being realigned to connect directly with River. Maybe one of our resident construction experts can tell us in the comments what is happening with those large, barrel-shaped steel coils they are in the process of burying on the site of the future EYA townhomes. All businesses - including the current Giant store - remain open at the Westwood Shopping Center during the construction.

Mejuri construction wall comes down at Bethesda Row (Photos)

The construction wall has come down at Mejuri, the fast fashion jewelry boutique opening soon at 7247 Woodmont Avenue at Bethesda Row. Some signage has been added to the storefront windows, which are still covered with paper. One window advertises that they are still hiring staff for this location. Another reminds window shoppers that "gold looks good on you."

With the chain's famous "Monday drops," the selection of pieces never gets old at Mejuri. If you have the cash, they have the bling, updated every week. Prices are kept down by eliminating the middleman. Mejuri will be located between Fish Taco and Anine Bing, putting two brands often worn by celebrities right next door to each other.
