Work begins on Brooke Park apartments conversion

Construction fencing has gone up around the Brooke Park apartments at 6301 MacArthur Boulevard in Bethesda. The parking lot is also closed off. Montgomery County's Housing Opportunities Commission is converting the naturally-occurring 17 units of affordable housing at Brooke Park into 17 HOC-controlled MPDUs.

Without googling, Bobby, what's an MPDU? Not just the acronym--what's it mean?

"the naturally-occurring 17 units of affordable housing at Brooke Park into 17 HOC-controlled MPDUs."

"Naturally-occurring affordable housing" - housing that is low-rent because it is in old crappy buildings nearing the end of their useful life.

"MPDUs" - "moderately-priced development units". New or renovated housing for Montgomery County residents with jobs but with income that is slightly below what is necessary to afford market-rate housing in the same area.

Previously on SNN:

"That was a totally different property and project, dumbass. You just made a complete fool of yourself."

Dyer's troll can't blow off steam in Rehoboth this time of year, so he's spending his morning posting the same lame insults. Sigh.
