Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services personnel responded to a fire in an underground electrical vault outside the Middlebrook Apartments on Battery Lane around 11:00 AM this morning. MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer said the fire was extinguished and the apartments were not affected. It's unclear if the problems in the electrical vault are in any way related to the landline telephone outages reported earlier by residents of Battery Lane.
