Bethesda Lidl construction update

Here's a sneak peek at the latest construction progress inside the future Lidl supermarket at 7625 Old Georgetown Road, at the Bethesda Place apartments. As you can see, most of the shelving is now in place. They are all still empty for the moment. Lidl will replace the departed Safeway grocery store as the anchor retail tenant at the property.

How does Trader Joe's manage to in keep out the riff raff without having security?

Any idea at all when it might be opening? Even just a guesstimate?

Maybe that is why TJ's doesn't have dining area or coffee kiosk.

Have they stopped working on
this store?

It seems so! They have been working on it for more than a year. They’re just replacing the shelves in an old Safeway. You cannot get an answer from anyone By calling the Lidl phone number. Very frustrating to say the least.

It seems to have stopped working on it. And you cannot reach a live person when calling Lidl phone number.

Someone from the Lidl store in Montgomery Village told me it’s not happening. Did not know why.
